Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Feb 7, 2011

As Big Time continues it has only gotten better and Amazing Spider-Man #653 is an example of that. Dan Slott, with help from Fred Van Lente, is establishing Amazing Spider-Man as one of Marvels premier titles. This is just one fun comic that no Spider-Man fan will want to miss out on. Great use of the Avengers backing Spidey up. I love seeing a Spidey who is a more important (and powerful) member of the Marvel Universe. Fun story and writing by the Slott/Van Lente team. ASM continues to impress! Read Full Review

While the fighty-fighty is exciting, and the battle seems larger than life, I'm really more interested in the final page conflict between Max Model and Peter Parker than if Luke Cage is going to bring the beat down to a guy dressed as a flying ant. Overall, the issue is worth a look and it is still one of the few issues I'm looking forward to on release day. The Amazing Spider-Man #653 earns 3 out of 5 Stars. Read Full Review
