Jul 04, 2009Starting with high hopes, the Millar / Hitch run has been something of a hit-or-miss prospect. Here's hoping the final issue is a hit again. Read Full Review

Jul 01, 2009It's a shame Millar and Hitch's controversial run on Fantastic Four is being finished off in this manner. The ideas are there, the story is strong enough, but for this issue the smooth execution just isn't there. Read Full Review

Comics Bulletin - David Wallace
Jun 30, 2009This issue is very much a mixed bag, with several well-executed moments that sit side-by-side with some less-than-great scenes. For every clever concept or well-written exchange, there's a moment of slightly fumbled storytelling that pulls you out of the book. For every impressive image or well-visualised idea, there's a jarring visual transition that disrupts the flow of the artwork. Whilst I'm sure that fans of Millar and Hitch's run on Fantastic Four will still enjoy this issue, it's not quite up to the standard of previous chapters, and so feels slightly disappointing in comparison to whats come before. Big bold ideas, huge stakes, heroism and difficult choices - this story arc is invigorating.

I see what Millar is trying to do with Marquis and Reed, as he's trying to tempt Reed to prevent billions of deaths by killing one person, but Reed won't do it because he's a hero. Unfortunately, Millar's execution is lackluster and this run pretty much sucks
