All of Toad's subsequent appearances struggle with the fact that they are neither drawn by Chris Bachalo, nor do they feature him chatting with an army of carnivorous frogs.
This storyline is probably my favorite of the series; so pretty and so full of weird, playful ideas that it's easy to forgive things like the Surgeon showing up out of nowhere, giving two panels of implied body horror, and then winking out of existence the moment he's surplus to requirements.
Loved Bachalo’s art this time. He’s much better when he’s not drawing scenes that take place at night
