Scott Lobdell might be a lousy person, he might love to drop 12 million clues to mysteries he hasn't for a moment considered the outcome of, he might have every character speak with bizarre verbal tics that do not resemble any set of words which ever came out of a real person's mouth, but credit where it's due: the man knew how to write a chill downtime issue like no one else, and this rather languid stretch of the series played to his strengths.
(I mean, so long as you don't mind that none of it's going anywhere — but why would you be reading 90's X-Men comics if you wanted a story that's going somewhere?)
Loved it. That reveal was done so well
