For all that I've praised the slice-of-life stretch of the series, this one really does feel like filler to put the big story off until the 25th issue. Still, some nice moments. I always liked the idea of Husk as someone who actually desperately wanted to be a mutant. And for all that I've spoken ill of Mitch Byrd's faces, the scene of the hands reaching for Emplate is really effective — as is his Emplate, and successfully replicating one of Bachalo's beautiful but convoluted designs is no mean feat
