Groot #2 shows a distinct change in its characters. The book is thrilling and emotional, as I found myself getting attached to the little tree and those that have chosen to try and keep them safe. Read Full Review
Abnett's care for Marvel cosmic shines through in Groot #2, where another Centaurian character is introduced, one that may or may not have something to do with the bloodline of Yondu. Regardless, this series continues to be peak cosmic goodness, there's no doubt about it. Read Full Review

Amazing artwork, great introduction of a new character, and this story is developing such a heart that I am excited to see where Abnett and crew take this series.
The action/mystery story cruises along at a solid pace. It helps that Yondar completes the team dynamic, adds comedy, and doesn't slow things down at all. Neither do the continuity nods, which come on even heavier than in the last issue.
Just a continuity nerd reminder that this Centaurian is pure OG Guardians with *no* MCU interference. Even back in the day, they used sound-sensitive yaka arrows. You could argue that that was the *most* comics-accurate thing about MCU Yondu.
This series continues to be exciting and mysterious.
