Summary: Senator Boynton & the Defense Department have contracted with Edwin Cord to build the Firepower armor to take out Iron Man for his deemed illegal actions during the Armor Wars. Tony finds out that Cord is the last holder of his stolen technology. After Boynton tells Tony of their plan, Iron Man goes to the desert to face Firepower. Iron Man finds that he is badly outgunned & that his negator pack has been neutralized. After briefly taking refuge in Rhodey's helicopter, Firepower shoots Iron Man from the sky with the high energy Terminax missile, leaving chunks of armor to fall to the ground.
