From the introductory montage broadly recapping Luke Cage's place at Marvel Comics through his final broadly heroic speech made to no one in particular, Luke Cage: Gang War #4 is composed of banal tropes played in the most obvious fashion imaginable. Read Full Review

This wasn't a bad read or anything, but I was hoping for more from Luke Cage's first series in quite some time. Especially considering that his City of Fire miniseries a few years ago got cancelled before it even began. Either way, this was fine. I just wish it was written a bit better.

This series ends before its story gets a third act. The real tragedy is, it was so bland that I don't feel any desire to see that third act.

Another horrible entry in what has been a dreadful series. Event tie-ins can be hit or miss but this series seemed completely pointless and added nothing to the Gang War story. Heck, it didn't even add anything to Luke Cage's story. Add in paint by numbers art, dull dialog and a rushed plot and you get one truly epic dumpster fire of a comic.
