This was a strong, oddly poetic collection of vignettes, dripping with horror that has as much to do with the heart as it does with the desire for braaaaaaaaiiiiiinnnnsss. Read Full Review

If you like blood and guts, Marvel Zombies: Black, White & Blood #1 has it in droves. Compared to other stories in previous chapters of this anthology, however, I was still left wanting. Nothing particularly jumped out, but all these tales are perfectly fine. Read Full Review

It's not bad! 3 different separate stories by different creative groups. It's definitely much better, than most of the Marvel Zombies crap that came out in the last 15 years or so. I loved DD story, but Spider-Man one was okay too. Moon Knight story was so-so, though... Not bad, just not really interesting and needed. At least the art is nice. It's sometimes too simple or not that clear, but overall the style of the book is cool. The best artist was in the DD story.

I'm ambivalent to Marvel Zombies. I know the company's done linear feet of these comics already, and I haven't read a lot of them. Maybe that's why this anthology strikes me as pretty novel and entertaining. For a start, the art standards are high, particularly for the first two strips. Secondly, all three strips have inventive ideas. Garth Ennis sketches a setting that's refreshingly different from the MZ standard (I think). Alex Segura digs deep to find the dark pathos in a simple "Spidey vs. zombies" tale. And Ashley Allen delivers a twist on the "zombie superhero" idea that's uniquely suited to Moon Knight.
