All that stands between the zombies and rest of the universe is Aaron "Machine Man" Stack! And if he has to fry, electrocute, harpoon, and, of course, insult every super-powered Zombie in the Marvel U, well, that's just what he's gonna do.

Major Spoilers - Matthew Peterson Dec 26, 2008

This is a really fun issue of a really fun series, and writer Fred Van Lente manages to merge two of my favorite things in recent Marvel history, the dark horror of the Marvel Zombies and the wry, vicious Aaron Stack from the late, lamented nextwave. Kev Walker manages to convey pure horror and comedy (sometimes even in the same panel) especially where a burning Kingpin steps out of the rubble of his home screaming for vengeance. Marvel Zombies 2 lost a bit of the fun that the original series and Dead Days nailed so well, and even brings new luster to characters like Morbius, Jocasta and Machine Man, proving my theory that everything more than 30 years old is now considered Marvel Gold (witness Spider-Woman, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and others, once considered second-tier losers, now among the upper echelons of the MU.) I'll be the first to admit that I thought Marvel Zombies 2 was dull at times and lacked a great plot. So far so good with this current undertaking, but let's remember we've only got one more issue left. With the zombies only now invading Earth 616, what kind of grand finale can we expect? Well, what impressed me here, that didn't impressed me in the past - the thing about vaccine. Morbius wanted to infect everyone using the inoculation. That's kinda what some of us fear today in the pandemic world. Machine Man vs zombies scene was cool too. But... Kingpin telling Machine Man whole masterplan... That was so dumb. Even Machine Man noticed that, but it doesn't justifies that. As I said before - there will be the happy end, no way it could be an end of the world. I just hate that. Marvel Zombies was depressing comic about... you know, the apocalypse. Yeah, the end of this issue was depressing too, but you already know, that the conclusion will undo it and only few unnecessary people die.
