The plot while predictable takes some clever turns on the journey, but when all is said and done, I simply do not like Mystique. It's more than her previous status of villain. It's for that reason I cannot stomach Ghidrah as the hero in the newest slate of Godzilla films. That aspect does not bother me. It's that Mr. Vaughn does not make her remotely sympathetic. There's nothing here really to like. She goads Forge but not playfully. Her jokes fall flat, and her heart isn't really in any of her assignments--this one a freebie. For me this is a shallow character. Not quite as shallow as the fruitcake Zeiss in Catwoman, but she issues no more than a shade more depth. Read Full Review
