Comic Book Revolution - Rokk Krinn
May 26, 2006I honestly don't think I would recommend the New Avengers to a non-Avengers fan. I think there are far too many other comics out there that are much more worth your money. Titles like Daredevil, Captain America, 52, Teen Titans, etc. Read Full Review

Comics Bulletin - David Wallace
Jun 20, 2006Ultimately, the story feels like less than the sum of its parts, and even penciller Mike Deodato cant seem to summon the enthusiasm to provide any truly outstanding work. All the action with Iron Man and the Sentry out in space feels fairly flat and one-note, and except for the few interesting S.H.I.E.L.D. sequences in which the artist gets to play with atmosphere and body language a little more, theres very little here that rises above the usual and that goes for the book as a whole. Meh... Somehow Deodato is hilarious here in a bad way... And the script is just mediocre. Yeah, the dude landed in Alaska and killed people, then moved to NY and killed more people, but now they did let him go and he landed exactly where he needed, no mistakes and casualties. How convenient. The mind-reading crap was dumb too. I'm already tired of this story arc and I just remembered the Civil War follows next, so that might probably get only downhill from here. I really want it to be another way.
