(Cover Date: January, 1988) Summary: After arriving on Bird Boy's island home, the team follows the new lot of half-starved Ani-Mates, who are Bird Boy's friends, through a deadly maze, drawn by the promise of food. The maze is the Animator's method of weeding out those he considers unworthy of life. The team is assaulted by the maze's traps & is captured by the Animator's Ani-Mate soldiers & put into manacles. They are sentenced to death by the mad Animator, who is collaborating with the Right.
