This was an amazing issue and this series is looking to be one of the best Punisher mini series I've ever read. This issue would have gotten a perfect 5/5 if it wasn't for the fact that Punisher wasn't in the issue long enough, which was a shame. Otherwise this is a great issue and due to Rucka making them stand alone issues which fit into the whole series it's easy to join the story at this issue if you can't find the previous, although I'd recommend trying to get a copy. I'd also recommend this issue and am looking forward to seeing Punisher square of against Thor next issue. Read Full Review

Up until now Frank has conceivably been able to handle his opponents but with arguably the most powerful Avenger on his tail it has escalated drastically and how Rucka handles his battle with Thor will potentially decide how the series is remembered for better or worse. Read Full Review

Another problem with War Zone #2 is the art. Carmine Di Giandomenico is either a naturally sloppy artist or wasn’t given much time to pencil this issue. Everything in this issue feels rushed, from the blocky human characters to the overly dull backgrounds. Nothing pops, nothing looks like time was taken with it. This book smacks of Marvel interference, because it is clear that Greg Rucka is a better writer than this. His 16 issue story is so masterful and introspective that it could not have possibly been meant to end like this. This is impersonal. This is messy. This is out of left field. This is a writer with a character arc that deserved a better art match, or a maintaining of the talents of Marco Checchetto. This is Marvel wanting The Punisher dragged back into the fold by the Avengers and slapped on a team book. Fine, they got him. And we, the readers, got the short end of the stick. Read Full Review
