Honestly, a property like this could have and should have been just the two of them hanging around the Savage Land and figuring out how to survive without having a big storyline in the mix. It just felt unnecessary and like it didn't “get” why people who read it when it first came out would want to revisit it. I'm not a late teens/early twenties guy coming back to see this for bouncy, pretty Rogue action. The potential for something more meaningful was here, but I know Marvel doesn't really engage in meaningful storytelling anymore for the most part. Seeley does well with what he has her,e and the artwork across the series was solid with some standout pages that really sold it all. But it does just feel hollow in the end, and that's unfortunate for what could have been a fun character piece that let's us look at very familiar characters in a light they haven't existed under in decades.
