A CLONE CONSPIRACY TIE-IN!
• Cindy Moon is still on the West Coast, operating as SILKWORM to protect her secret identity.
• But the Jackal's nefarious operations have started to hit close to home when Cindy's ghost-powered and sometimes-boyfriend Hector (A.K.A. SPECTRO) gets caught in the middle!
• Fortunately, Mattie Franklin, the original Spider-Woman, is alive and well again, and happy to lend a hand...or six!

While Silk has some kinks it has to work out, issue #17 packs its punch through action and lighthearted art. Robbie Thompson and Irene Strychalski grapple with heavy emotional losses and handle the task of creating a "The Clone Conspiracy" tie-in with dignity, promising readers further gratification with issues to come. Overall, I was not wholly impressed with the Clone Conspiracy and was not a huge fan of this issue. Hopefully, there will be more Silk related adventures, especially adventures that involve girls' days with the other Spider-Women. Read Full Review
Otherwise, this is a fairly enjoyable issue, though not as good as what we're used to getting from the title. Irene Strychalski's art is a bit stilted at times, but always looks great"especially in the final few pages. And Thompson always gives Cindy Moon a great voice. As good as Clone Conspiracy has been, I think Silk is the type of book that operates better on its own rather than tied into a major event"and without any stupid ghost tricks. Read Full Review
Silk watches clone-Mattie sacrifice herself in what feels a lot like an appendix to the Clone Conspiracy. By straddling the line between telling its own story and addressing the event, this issue manages to fail at both jobs. Also, while I've fallen in love with Irene Strychalski's art, I have to admit she does a sub-par job of drawing a zombie apocalypse here.
