The artwork of Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #9 matched the tone really well, as it really brought the fear Gwen was experiencing to life. I appreciate how dramatic the characters were drawn, as it added much more depth to the storyline. Paolo Villanelli just doesn't miss when it comes to his artwork, and this comic proves that. With Matt Milla on colors, and Ariana Maher on letters, they all created something dramatic and compelling and perfect for the story. Read Full Review
The series continues to explore some interesting angles on a very young web-slinger who has been displaced from one Earth to the next and feels as though she is completely in over her head. The wit that Phillips had woven in and around the edges of Gwen has faded into the background in order for her to embrace the darkness. Its not as fun as previous issues have been, but it IS an exploration of something that feels fresh. Above all, Gwen DOES appear to be progressing.
