THE COLD CASE GETS HOT! The investigation into the death of George Stacy heats up, and Peter figures out the murderer's identity! Gwen Stacy isn't going to like it! But in the meantime, meet the newest Spider-Man Noir rogue - HARD BOIL!
I really enjoyed this issue and thought the first meeting between Spider-Man and Hard Boil was handled brilliantly. I loved how their fight ends with Spider-Man being punched so hard he's launched onto the roof of a skyscraper, only to be helped out by a gang of sharp-witted 1930s street kids. The whole sequence instantly put me in mind of the old black-and-white films my late father used to watch, like Angels With Dirty Faces and Going My Way, where the protagonist always seemed to know a group of cheeky neighbourhood kids who'd lend a hand at just the right moment. I hope that the next issue will continue the story with Gwen and Spider-Man Noir. I want to see their relationship either bloom, or, maybe something else happens. I want the third issue to also give me a variety of surprises, just like it did for this issue. Read Full Review

Spider-Man Noir #2 tries to serve up a hard-boiled mystery, a love story, and a history lesson, but the ingredients never gel. If your comic budget is tight, keep moving. There are better stories lurking down the alley. Read Full Review
