This issue was tons of fun. This series has really felt stagnant for a while but this issue finally takes an interesting angle for something fresh. Hopefully the story keeps up this pace and the series will end at issue 50 on a high note than continue on with more mediocrity.

Everything here seemed rushed. The art has a huge drop in quality in some panels.
It's impressive that an arc lasting over a year brought nothing new to the main character of the comic.

Nightwing, merely an observer in his own comic, achieves no victory in the end. He failed to save the children; one was left behind because Nightwing nev er found a way to defeat Zanni. And he just stood by while the Justice League and the gangs cleaned up the city he failed to protect. And on top of that, the comic wants the reader to see this as a victory.

Not even Taylor could write such an incapable Nightwing.

I felt Layman got into a good groove as his run went on, but then really struggled come the tie-in's with too many moments of the team just talking things out getting too far bogged down in the details so by the time we get to "feel good" moments they really didn't hit.

Huge improvement from the previous issues and hope Barnes found his groove going forward.

Lots of exposition.

Great ending to what's not only the best arc I've read from PKJ but also one of my favorite Batman stories of the last few years. Perfect blend of classic villains being swept up in a conflict with a new villain/vigilante while doing great work on Damien's growth as a person. I'll certainly be picking this up in a trade and recommend to anyone. Only nit pick is the "pretty brave" comment from Bruc e was being cringy and would sound so condescending to Damien. That's something to say to a little kid he saves at best.

Now we just need someone to give this story (amongst plenty of other recent runs) to Matt Fraction asap before he continues his brutal regression of Damien in the current Batman book.more

Got off to a boring start and didn't love the art, but the second half really picked up and made this a solid read with some good moments.
