So.. that was a pointless arc. The art was especially rough - Rogue's face was all over the place.

This is one of the worst finales to a so-called "event" I have ever read. In the end, nothing happens or changes, the main character of Rogue acts weirdly out of character, and aside from a small number of decent character moments among the supporting cast, there was nothing of substance or note. I can't even make a longer review because there's just nothing to talk about.

This crossover was such a bad idea. Put the nail in the coffin for me with Uncanny. Also, this inconsistency with art has become really annoying. I feel like Marvel's greedy tactics are starting to really show so it's time for me to move on to something where I feel people don't make decisions based on just wanting to sell more comics. There really is no point in having 18 issues a year and having a crossover every few months...I prefer quality over quantity and spectacle... more

Huge step down in quality for both writing and art. It feels like the writer's of this current phase of X-Men just don't have the voice of the characters down and reading X-Men comics has become a chore.

I like this book but it takes so much suspension of belief to read. It's nice that the story uses cool villains and not just chumps, but Cyborg Superman and the Eradicator are way too over powered for this team and Rene would've been dead with one punch. That said I like the characters and it's nice to focus on ones who don't get much time to shine (especially Buddy) so I'm along for the ride as silly as it gets. more

The strength of this series is the character moments and conversations which is starting to become a weakness as that's almost all that's happening with a lack of focus to the Spider-Man aspect of the book. I hope the series starts to have more super hero moments while still giving us great dialogue and moments with the family.

There's some interesting ideas here but the issue was a slog to read which is something I've found to be typical for Ridley's writing.

This issue was just a blast with fantastic art. Adams is clearly bringing some Flash Gordon vibes to this story and I'm all for it.

There were some really great moments here that were tainted by PKJ extending the ideas too far such as the Harvey moment. Each Robin had that critical Harvey confrontation early on so I loved this line but then he had Jason go on saying his moment was a civilian falling which tainted the line. Similar issue with them being Robin so Batman would love them which was fine early on but he wrote Jason saying how still talk about this being issue with Batman where this should be in the past for the other Robin's. The hot mic scene was jarring too as Batman wouldn't have the comms set up so any Batfam member can just listen in at any moment. This was especially bad as Jason and Bruce were standing next to each other and head no need for comms.

Aside from all my nit pics, the art was great and I still really liked the issue and the story we're dealing with but could do without the overplayed Batman & Robin butting heads trope of late. more

This issue was a very mixed bag for me. Everything with Beast, Jubilee, and Calico was fantastic but the heroes misunderstanding fight scene is so played out and really took me out of the issue.

Far and away the best thing MacKay has written for either his Avengers or X-Men runs. The characters' voices finally felt accurate and greatly appreciated a cool down conversation issue between the teams to set things up in the future.

This book continues to impress me with Ba’s fantastic character work for Jenika while Pe just keeps delivering masterful art. Bad and Pe collaboration works brilliantly with Pa’s dynamic art framing Ba’s narrative.
