Best issue from the new creative team and hope the books stays to this level. After being burnt by suffering through the terrible bonus stories, I skipped this one to not end a good issue with a bad taste in my mouth.

This book was clearly affected by Knight Terrors and Johnson was forced to rush this story to a quick ending which was very disappointing but he managed to still do a decent job wrapping it up.

If Johnson and Williamson can both maintain the quality of each series, this will go down as a special moment for classic Superman stories.

I typically don't like Jason Aaron books and get bogged down reading Bizarro talk, but this was a great start and I'm really liking everything Aaron's bringing to the table in DC so far. Seems he's been reinvigorated writing for DC and looking forward to this and Batman Off World continuing.

Amazing art but painfully boring story of characters that we have no connection to that were just as boring in their future state story.

Nice story with good heart felt moments but is such a cliché story that we've been getting too much of lately telling us what we already know, Superman is a good guy.

Ok issue but Taylor isn't delivering the great character work or dialog that he used to. Having Bruce say Superman killed his son was way out of line and almost took me right out of the issue.

I used to love Tom Taylor and held out hope he'd come to a satisfying end here but man what a waste of time. Not only do we not a get a satisfying conclusion to Jon or Injustice Superman's stories, but the whole issue felt like Tom Taylor apologizing for his Injustice work when anyone with a brain accepted it was an Elseworld's story. Nightwing started out great until it just became the perpetual "Nightwing is awesome" series without resolving major plots, his Jon Kent work's been ok, and Teen Titans has so far been disappointing with the writing quality of an average digital first. Shame he couldn't keep up the magic he brought to the table on Injustice, Unkillables, and the DCeased digital spin off.

It's been brutal not being able to read the Avengers for so long due to Aarons terrible run so was hoping we'd get something fun to tide people over until he's off the run but unfortunately this book was very mediocre and too chaotic to really have any good character beats.

I liked the horror vibe but this story just came out of nowhere from anything previously established for this hospital being sinister. Hopefully there's some follow up to explain further.

Though the whole beginning seemed offensively nonsensical, a few parts made me laugh so I can't criticize it that harshly. In the end the book got back to serious story telling again that led to major revelations for Ben to learn and should continue an intriguing story. Ziglar just needs to dial down on the attempted jokes that fail at comedy but excel at making great characters like Doc Oc, Colleen, and Misty come across as jokes. All said and done the book averaged out for a solid issue thanks to the end.

I'm a big Kelly Thompson fan for most of her books but this issue was just such nonsense full of terrible "jokes" for what should have been a big issue with healthy Peter back to work with Ben.

I was pumped for this run when it was announced Zeb Wells was the author as his Hellions run was amazing but I have to admit I was devastated to hear Romita Jr. would be the artist as I found his latest work on Superman to be jarringly terrible. That said I was pleasantly surprised the find that he really did a great job (for what his style is) on this #1 and hope coming back to Marvel is what he needed. Overall this was a solid first issue where there are a few off-putting things at play but knowing Zeb's previous work am confident will for a valid reason that will be addressed/resolved as the story unfolds. This issue does exactly what a first issue should do: spark curiosity, be entertaining, and give us an idea of where the series is headed. I will say I HATE how Marvel just won't let Peter & MJ be happily married as it clearly works brilliantly for Louis & Clark. Else world stories nail at how fun the family aspect of poppa Peter with lil' Annie can be a blast but unfortunately appears it doesn't seem that editorial will allow that for one reason or another though Miles already fills the slot as the young Spider-Man.

Was so excited for Zeb Wells' run on Spider-Man after his amazing Hellions run but so far the story is really lacking. Romita's art also doesn't help. I'm cool for waiting to find out what happened in the 6 months but this issue kind of dragged at points and Tombstone's feelings on Robbie & Randy are suddenly the exact opposite of where he was just at. Hope it all makes sense in the end.

Solid issue but an art change would be huge for this series.

Wow, this was bad. I was very optimistic for Zeb Wells' run but this issue makes me very nervous. Inferno was great for being a serious story with goofy elements but this shows Dark Web is trying to capture that but is failing by going so cheesy goofy even in the villains portrayals that there's no story to be invested in.

Wells never created a valid reason for Ms. Marvel to be shoehorned in this series and further didn't even include her in meaningful conversations to make her part of the story. Marvel editorial's agenda for a money grab to cash in on some attention and then change her to a mutant later on, is so transparent it's embarrassing. Meanwhile Spider-Man fan just keep taking the abuse. Struggling to even continue reading even via Marvel Unlimited.

I was shocked to actually enjoy this. Note that I read on Marvel Unlimited so my review doesn't reflect the cost of the issue. Wells has been way too "silly" in this series (especially the insufferable Inferno "event") but this issue toed the line enough on the goofiness to have some fun without being nonsense. Wells had a good balance of storytelling with comedic beats in Hellions but has yet to carry that quality over in this series. Hoping things pick up though I haven't loved many of the directions he's been going. I even liked most the back ups.

The Dark Web crossover was atrocious and completely ruined Limbo just making it a complete joke. Now bringing that awful story and characters back into the series just continues to drag this series down after being on a decent pace of late. Zeb Wells thinks his "clever" Bizarro Spider-Man character Rek-Rap is a hilarious hit, but is proving he should not be given the chance to write series for Marvel's top characters and should be kept for books like Deadpool.

This book is pretty ruff with some poor writing and nonsense that Well's just won't accept isn't funny at all. But the art is great and the Tombstone/Janice stuff was good.

I really enjoyed the issue but did find some of the scenes like Yara being able to sneak into a top level Presidential meeting to be pushing it a little too far. The art was great too but there were some scenes that were a little confusing.

This book's just a good time and glad Josie Campbell was given the chance to write these characters. Perfect balance to the dry tone to King's Wonder Woman.

Though I doubt Tom King will make any of this book part of his main story in the end, I don't even care as Campbell does such a good job with these characters and this was such a fun read.

Another drag of a boring issue further making a joke of the phoenix force and our loved characters with pointless fights and cliché tropes of characters saying things that feel off base for what we know of them. I was really liking the beginning of Aaron's run and was pumped to see where it was leading but the Moon Knight issues really seemed to be a bore and this arc has been especially brutal. Hoping we can get back to some better stories once this arc is finally over with.

I've read all Avengers issues since 2004 but will no longer read Avengers until Aaron is gone as this is just unacceptably awful and I read on Marvel Unlimited!

Finally the Avengers have been freed from clutches of Jason Aaron! Great first issue and so good to be able to read the Avengers again. Jed MacKay has a solid track record and so far seems to be the perfect fit for the book. Really looking forward to seeing where this story goes and what else he's got in store.

McKay really needs to spend some time slowing down and focus on character work which is what he's best at. Each issue has been quickly losing steam due to nonstop end of the world threats but having most of this issue be just a dream was really lame. The art was great and still keeping faith McKay finds his groove.

This issue shows what a critical piece Jorge Jimenez's art is to this run. I'm enjoying Tynion's run but do see how things get dragged out and parts feel boring or cheesy without being elevated by Jimenez's art.

Howard Porter is a talented artist with a dynamic feel but is just not for me. I could deal with it through Shadow War as the story was entertaining, but when paired with a mediocre story the combination was a disappointing issue.

This arc may be good but really struggles with bad timing. Batman being "dead" after just coming back in Crisis and too much multi-verse focus going on everywhere, really makes it hard to buy into another one. But the issue was interesting and better than what we're getting in Detective so I'm positive overall but would have been better if Zdarsky adjusted his plans accounting for what's just happened in the DCU.

I was really concerned having Tini Howard involved in this crossover as I don't feel any writer can salvage anything she's involved in but this issue somewhat tainted my feelings on Zdarsky's writing (who I find to be one of the best writers currently at the big 2). Dick Grayson saying Bruce needs to get off his "Moral Ledge" is practically blasphemy. Dick and Superman are supposed to be the moral compass of the DCU so he would never make such a statement of act like this. Just when it seemed the Bat-family was finally in a good place and getting along, we' thrown right into another rift that we keep seeing repeated through each writer's runs and it's getting so old and frustrating at this point. The Bat line is in dire need of a capable editor to manage the direction of these books and to challenge the writers to re-assess their ideas to get the most out of their potential. On a more positive note, it's so great to have Jorge Jimenez back on this book as his art style is amazing bringing so much life to it. Easily my favorite artist right now.

Thank god Gotham War is over and Zdarsky's run can continue without being dragged down by Tini Howard and Matthew Rosenburg's terrible writing. This issue gets right back to a compelling high stakes story with the Joker that nicely ties back the Chip's The Knight and Morrison's Zur-En-Arrh. Though the Joker can feel overplayed, the problem is with too many inept writers telling Joker stories so for me this is a breath of fresh air to have a capable writer using him. The back up is also great and nice to not only have Zdarsky writing it, but excellent that there's more to be done with Vandall Savage without being bogged down by the Gotham War. Jimenez's art is brilliant as always.

I'm not a fan of defining the Joker's past but the story of the past timeline does have my interest and presents some interesting ideas but I'm not really into the future timeline. The final issue has a lot of work to do to make this a worthwhile story and I really hope he sticks the landing.

This was an ok story for an early Gordon tale but it really hurt the series further ruining the flow of the main story.

Great issue finally bringing back some urgency and interest to the Zur story. The Joker Year One and Catwoman crossover really hurt the flow of this run and really hope we're past that and it stays on track.

This issue was fantastic and feel that my patience with this run is now being rewarded with some very compelling ideas and connections. I could feel my adrenaline pumping as the story progressed and was at the edge of my seat the whole read. Additionally, Jimenez's art is brilliant and elevates the issue to another level. Jimenez is not only my favorite current artist in comics but will go down as one of the best Batman artists in history which is murderers row of talent.

Officially the last Tom King book this guy will ever be reading.

What a pleasant surprise! These holidays specials are usually weak but this is fun with great art and Parker has the characters' voices spot on.

I'm a big fan of Gene Luen Yang and think every human should read his perfect Superman Smashes the Klan and have also been enjoying his latest Shang Chi runs, but his start to this series has been a huge disappointment. The fantastic art and occasional funny lines just aren't enough to make up for what's feeling more and more over a jumbled story that's losing my interest more each issue. Hopefully once this arc is done the series picks up.

This book is just so good. Amazing art, perfect storytelling, and good ol' comic fun.

I'm loving this series with such fun writing and amazing art, but had to go down a little here with all the wonkiness of them merging with the ring because... magic? But the result looks so cool that I can run with it.

First story was fun but diminishing returns on each one as it went on.

This book is a breath of fresh air compared to Gotham War and the played out rift amongst the bat family that's been a never ending cycle for too long in recent runs. Though his recent "events" have been awful, Joshua Williamson has done such great work with Damian and he truly understands the character so I'm hoping he continues to write enough Damian stories that other writers will pick up on what makes him so great. My only problem with the issue was the art. The artist clearly has talent and I love anime influenced style but there's something about it that's hard to follow at times and took away from the issue. It seems to zoom in too far during the action and you can't good sense of what's going on.

Decent issue but I'm still struggling with the art making scenes difficult to follow what's happening.

The story is fun but the art is too distracting and taking away from the story.

I love the dynamic between Damian and Bruce, but there are some really corny things happening such as Man-Bat not dying because he was preserved in a cocoon due to all the formulas he's taken. Also making Man-Bat the "big bad" with Shush as his stooge, really make that character a chump and will be awful if she actually ends up being Damian's former teacher.

Fun issue to get some character work for Damian at school but really hope the principal is actually reformed and the Shush story has a satisfying reveal. Was also pleased that the art was much better here than before and seems to lend itself far better to more traditional coloring.

The first half was mediocre and the whole Shush & Manbat story is weak but the second half was great and I'm all about the feels between Bruce & Damian bonding. Hyped for next issue to get more Flatline too.

This book has tons of potential with a fun team with ranging personalities but all the jumping around in this first issue took away from the flow so I'm hoping with the plot now established, the next issue will improve.

This is a fun series but is way too busy with too many things going on to focus on any character development.

I'm not a a fan of Jason Aaron but wanted to give him a fair chance with his move to DC and see if it reinvigorates him to tell some interesting stories. That said, I found this to be a solid first issue and appreciated it having a unique story and feel than the Batman & Detective books. Hope it keeps up the pace and sticks the landing.

The fun moments of Robin alone make this issue a must read.

AKA Urban Legends 2. StormWatch was the most interesting and Mora's story has fantastic art as always but I'm all set with more Tom King Batman stories.

I'm a huge fan of Tom Taylor but this whole story just felt like a dud and not up to his usual caliber at all. Similar to Justice League Last Ride which was another mediocre story by a fantastic writer.

Really enjoyed the story and art of the Batman/Zatanna story thought the talk between Superman and Batman was very jarring and off character. The Wight Witch was readable but very cliché story trope for a character that doesn't feel warranted to have a past with Bruce. The last two were the standard throw away stories we seem to get in this book and won't be reading the rest of those.

Kelly Thompson is exactly what DC needs. I've been eager for her to come over to DC for a while as I feel she's the best female writer at the big 2 and DC really lacks quality writers on their female characters' books. Birds of Prey is perfectly suited for her style and had a decent start that I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out. Hoping/expecting she evolves the team dynamics and character relationships further as it continues. Though it's not my favorite, I really liked the art and have to applaud the classic comic feel Romero brings to the table to make this book unique and the colors compliment the art extremely well.

I so want to like this book as I like most of Kelly Thompson's books and this team has the potential for something great but so far the book's all over the place and loses me more each issue.

I really enjoyed this issue as stories like this better the series rather than some of the other other-worldly threats that just didn't seem to fit. This issue gave Jed MacKay a chance to write good witty dialogue that is fun and shows how great Felicia is.

Great wrap up to one of the best sci fi adventure stories ever. This book had so much character depth with beautiful art it will go down as a classic for the ages.

This book just continues to be fantastic. Kelly Thompson's witty dialogue with the amazing art style of this book finds a great blend maintaining the espionage style a Black Widow story should have with laughs and charming characters making each read a joy.

More of the same in the best of ways. Solid fill in artist to keep the feel of the book.

Great start and I'm really hoping the quality here continues. I'm hoping Hill has refined his craft as I've seen potential in some of his previous stuff but he struggled with jarring dialogue and dragged out plot lines.

Only 2 issues in and this is the best Captain America book since Brubaker's infamous run. I'm finally excited to read Marvel comics again after years of mostly mediocre stories thanks to books like this, FF, Daredevil, and Hulk.

Though the Scooby-Doo-esque "let me explain to you how I did it" beginning was a little cheesy, the issue was solid and really picked up as it went along. Really happy to see the consistency between not just the Bat/Gotham books but even Swamp Thing and how things are tying together and impacting each other.

Been really liking this run under Ram V but this issue just felt like a waste of time with stories that didn't add any interesting insight to Selina's history.

DC should be embarrassed to allow such bad writing for Catwoman let alone Batman!

Great issue that's finally back to the high standard this run had before Devil's Reign. It's a shame the Fist arc went on so long that it really diminished the run and hoping that the rest of the story keeps up this momentum.

Checchetto's art is amazing!

Solid start but was disappointed in the portrayal of Harley. Williamson did great with all the other characters' personalities but for some reason reverted Harley to her cliché trope prior to Tynion's Batman run.

Solid issue but I have no clue who this version of Dick Grayson that's been written in the series is. From not worrying when the league dies to now giving up hope, it's not in line with the character.

Great issue but the delays have killed all momentum to this series. Looking forward to reading it all at once and hope for a better experience.

DC vs Vampires feels like the Earth 3 to DCeased. DCeased was ok but it was the side books that were amazing and seems we're getting the inverse here.

I've really like Taylor's previous work but this series didn't do much for me. I'm a huge Damian fan but his sacrifice had zero feels and didn't capture that previous magic Taylor's excelled at in Injustice or Unkillables.

Flawless ending to a classic series.

For a story that I didn't feel needed a retelling, Brisson wrote a solid story that was fun and had the feel of a 90's action movie.

Mostly a solid issue but the whole Huntress being able to vision murders after that whole Vile nonsense did make me roll my eyes at the end.

The cringe dialogue and narration were pretty jarring to get through.

This issue was much stronger than the start to the new arc and is more in line with what I was expecting from Ram V. He thankfully dialed back the cringe "poetic" dialogue/monologue from characters that would never speak that way and really hoping that continues to not take away from the story he's telling.

Wish Ram V would just go write Orgham Comics somewhere else so we can have someone write Batman stories on Detective. The previous runs by Tamaki and Thomasi weren't great but way more enjoyable than this never-ending run.

Not sure if I've just been beaten down by the never ending drag of this whole story but I actually enjoyed this issue and hope the trend continues.

Can't wait until this run is over.

Thought this story has gone on for far too long, I'm doing my best to give each issue it's fair chance and thought this was a pretty good issue. The art was lacking but at least it appears Ram V now has a sense of direction for the story and hopefully gets to a satisfactory conclusion.

The art is great but this story keeps dragging on to nowhere. This run could have potentially been good in 12 issues tops but it just keeps slowing going on continuing the same beats.

This runs been so brutally repetitive and boring which continues here but I give him some credit for a few nice lines and at least moving the story forward (or so I hope).

Nice story but odd choice to start the run and would’ve read better placed later on.

This is the only current Marvel book that I get excited for a new issue. North is doing a fantastic job balancing science fiction concepts, character work, twilight zone nostalgia, and super hero action that are also just simply fun to read. Really hoping North gets to have a long run as this hands down the best Fantastic Four run in the modern era next to Hickman's. I also have to praise the beautiful art and coloring of each issue.

This is far and away the best series Marvel has right now. I'm really excited to see Ryan North's career advance as he's already one of, if not, the best writer at Marvel this early in his career. Something Marvel is in desperate need of.

Love the great science fiction we're getting throughout this series. North excels where many others at Marvel falter.

Continues to be best book Marvel's putting out. Writing, art, and colors are all amazing and this series is something special I hope gets a long run.

This is a great issue and totally has me sold on this new creative team. Great balance of comedy, heart, and interesting story to hopefully put the unfortunate story of Heroes Crisis behind him.

Not only was this one of the most fun comics I've read in a while, but it did an amazing job evolving both the Flash & Dark Crisis stories while having perfect authentic voices for all the characters involved in the story. Bravo Mr. Adams!

Perfect simple one shot issue that's plenty of fun. Sometimes attempts at stories like this fall flat especially when a series isn't providing stories of substance, but after the last few issues being so strong while actually tying into Dark Crisis (unlike the other "tie ins") a one shot break to have some fun fits perfect.

Really liked Adam's "Almost Got 'Im" story for a fun one shot but really wish he had a stronger finish to his fantastic run and devastated that it's come to a close. The Bart story was great but the Spurrier story further increases my concern with him replacing Adam's as his writing style is a terrible fit for these characters.

I'm still devastated Jeremy Adams' run was cut far too short and replacing him with Si Spurrier hurt even more as I'm usually not a fan of his work. That said, this was a solid issue to set up some interesting threats while also doing a decent job spending time with the Flash family which Adams excelled at. The art is also fantastic and the freaky scenes are some of Deodato's best work.

Rather than find a character's voice, Si Spurrier just decides to impose his voice into the characters he's writing and it's extremely jarring and pretentious. This is why I tend to avoid his work but I gave him a fair shot as I love Wally. Lesson learned that Spurrier just can't help himself and I'll stick to avoiding his work from now on regardless of how much I love the characters he's holding hostage. It's criminal the Jeremy Adams run was canceled far too early to shift gears to this and hopefully the sales indicate this was a misstep forcing DC to learn their lesson.

More of the same good ol' dumb action horror fun which is exactly all this series needs to be. Consistently entertaining and I look forward to each issue.

The explanation and resolution are super hand wavy nonsense but this books been so fun getting the Arrow family finally together that I don't even care and can roll with it.

Great to have Hester on art here going back to the well of him and Smith's classic run with their Onomatopoeia story. This book's just a fun solid read each week and I really hope Williamson sticks the landing with this and his Superman stories.

Though this series tends to get a little hand wavy with explanations, it's so much fun and Williamson has a great feel for the arrow fam that this is one of my favorite current books at DC. So hyped to have Mia back and can't wait for more details on where she's been.

Another solid issue with fantastic art by Ron Marz. The flawless facial expressions do so much to portray strong emotional moments without the need for dialogue.

This book blew me away and felt like an instant classic in just the first few issues. Has all the elements that I look for in a great horror story from interesting characters, intriguing storyline, witches, pantheons, monsters, ghosts, suspense, and that a constant uneasy tension throughout. On top of that the art is just brilliant and compliments the story to perfection. Amazing character designs and expressions with a beautiful water color finish. I can’t recommend this book enough and had to leave this praising review before I dove into volume 2.

Great art but this feels like a tie in issue that only the last few pages progress a story. Continuing my disappointment in the Aaron's Avengers run and patiently waiting for the next writer to give this book life again.

I loved Kick Ass and Hit Girl became one of my favorite characters from that but this series was such a dud. I couldn't even believe Mark Millar wrote this as I've always found him to be better than this.

This run quickly went from something I was excited for to suffering through to give the first arc a chance but will definitely be dropping now. Shame Ryan Ottley's amazing art is wasted on this story and hope to see him on another series in the future.

Lots of cool reveals here but the repetitive biblical type quotes theme has really began to drag down each ongoing issue.

This issue was literally incredible! With all the poor quality books marvel is pumping out, this series already stands out as one of the few to actually get excited about. The whole monster theme Johnson is going for starts off great and has me eager to see where it goes. Plus Klein’s art is just breathtaking and couldn’t fit the tone of the theme better.

I'm enjoying this run but it's now relevant that this book is similar to the current Ghost Rider series which provides a fun monster of the week fix with great art but doesn't seem to have much to offer beyond that.

This is isn't a character I'd read any story on but I loved The Lost Children and Adams' Flash run so gave this a shot and it's great. Adams continues to shine showing he's one on of the few great writers at DC right now.

This series continues to be so fun and while intriguing. Not only is Diego Olortegui's art a perfect fit, but his Judy is "as cute as a button."
