Yes, wherever would Spider-Man get a powerful adhesive?
With NYC reeling from Doc Ock's attack, Captain America and Black Cat need to know something…if Ben Reilly is really down, is Peter Parker able to step up and be Spider-Man again? You may think you know where this story is going, but you do not.
Gomez delivers some amazing art in this issue. The character designs are fantastic and the tone of the art is light and approachable which immediately helps engage the reader visually. Read Full Review

Amazing Spider-Man #87 shifts back to Peter Parker as Black Cat and Captain America help him recover. Zeb Wells delivers not only a fun but positive story as we see Cap and Black Cat help Peter in this vulnerable state in ways only they can.Meanwhile the Beyond portions show that something's up with Ben Reilly after the last issue, and sets things up for the next part in the Beyond storyline. As Peter flourishes, Ben Reilly worsens in a setup issue that moves both characters forward ever so slightly. After months of the Beyond Corp era, the creative team can lean on our caring of the characters, but The Amazing Spider-Man #87 lacks impactful moments. Read Full Review
Peter training to get back being Spider-Man. Fun to read. Essence of Spider-Man lies in small stuff for me. I absolutely loved that MacKay was focussed on it. BagMan Mask with Animal Shirt. God best small stuff. I am call this now "Animalistic" Bag Man
I know Wells is next writer. I hate it. I always wanted MacKay. MacKay just continue proving that He DESERVES a ASM run. I want him to write ASM and make it #1 book again.
What a turn around from the first half. I'm not gonna lie they had us with that messed up mix headed nowhere fast. MacKay is a great writer and he gets to play with dynamics that put a smile on my face. Enjoyed it! Gomez has pumped up his art a notch and delivered some great visuals with vibrant Valenza colors!
This is a really good issue, although I saw some criticism elsewhere that we might be leading up to something very similar to what Nick Spencer did in his run. A Spider-Man without responsibility vs a Peter Parker without great power. And yeah... maybe, that is. But I'm enjoying the ride there, which I couldn't really say about the earlier parts of the run beyond a tepid acknowledgement as I quietly bemoaned Spencer's run being rushed to conclusion.
Great read! This was a very fun book as black cat brings a lot of character to the book. This and the mart Jane and black cat book made for a fantastic week of Spider-Man books
This was a fun issue and a welcome return for Peter to the story. Ben’s story is also the most engaging it’s been for weeks. Keen to see how this bloated Beyond arc wraps up in the coming issues.
This, the MJ and Black Cat Special, Moon Knight, Death of Doctor Strange(also the upcoming Strange series with Clea), Black Cat, Mackay is absolutely killing it, I know Wells is the next writer of Amazing, but please Marvel give Mackay a run on Spider-Man. Friendly Neighborhood, Spectacular, Web Of, I don't care, just let this man write Spider-Man(presuming of course that he's plate is not full with so many series lol).
Most important thing: I love Carlos Gomez's art, he's becoming one of my favourites! And this issue is absolutely amazing. Peter training with Cap and Felicia is a very fun read, especially the Cat robbing a bank in front of the other two. The highlight of the issue was Peter's "I'm not Daredevil" T-shirt by the way. Also, Ben is being reprogrammed by Beyond and things are getting ugly for him. It's been two great issues in a row, let's keep it that way, please!
The second part of Beyond storyline has been surprising me. Overall it has been fine, but I'm starting to get much more invested in the story. As there seems to be point for all this and this isn't just a placeholder for Wells and JRJR.
MacKay is becoming one of my favourites lately. With Black Cat, Moon Knight, Timeless and this, he just keeps delivering.
You might know me as "that one user that falls all over himself praising Jed MacKay's Black Cat." Indeed, it's one of my favorite Marvel runs in recent years.
And yet, even though this issue is written by Mr. MacKay and it's got a lot of Felicia Hardy fun in it, I recognize her training montage with Peter Parker goes on a little too long and doesn't have much impact.
Actual plot development is limited to a few tiny crumbs -- though I appreciate how chilling some of those crumbs are. And the art is very easy on on the eyes in this issue, which is another plus.
Still, I rate this as good rather than great -- I *enjoy* being pandered to, but I try to remain aware of it when it's happening.
Another pretty good issue. The Ben Reilly parts were good, and even though the Peter parts were a little cheesy, it worked for the most part.
Kind of a filler issue with certain important details, I would say probably average with the pace and storytelling. The character development in this issue for Peter and Ben will give you a better understanding for the final part of the Beyond Arc.
All of the issues in the Beyond run would be solid in a monthly or maybe even semi-monthly series, but I’m getting Spider-exhausted with this coming out almost every week
He was in a coma for, what, a week, and forgot how to be S-M? A little silly. And how did that paper bag stay on his head? Spider-glue?
Meh, pretty mediocre issue.
