Somebody gets it
There sure is a hell of a lot of damn frivolous cursing which makes Matt come across as a pretty piss poor priest. It just seems strange that he’s being portrayed as a man of the cloth without the maturity or discipline to speak in a more reverent manner. Other than that it was a good enough first issue, plenty of intrigue to explain what happened to bring him here going forward, but I hope theymore

"Somehow." That's the one word "explanation" on the splash page for how MM returned from the dead, and with total amnesia.
"Somehow" Matt, with no memory, no training, no ID, becomes a priest, working in a place that calls for close contact with children, no less. That's some screening process!

I think (or hope, anyway) that the “somehow” hand wave is just a placeholder with the intent to go more in depth into what actually happened in future issues
WHAT LIES BEYOND THE SEA? What is a life filled with immense loss and pain? A life watching the world wither away as the ALZ-113 virus consumes humanity? For some, it is an existence of boiling rage that breeds contempt, cruelty and violence. It breeds the Exercitus Viri. As Juliana and Omatete set sail to transfer a thousand apes from the Internat...
SPOILER Daredevil cutting out his own eye was WAAAAY over the top. The backup story was better than I expected in that it was just a fun story, a nice change of pace from the perpetual beat downs that have characterized Zdarsky’s run over all.
THE DEVIL IN HELL!
The Hand have made Matt Murdock's life a living hell for years, but as Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto enter the crescendo of their critically acclaimed and chart-topping run, the villainous cadre of ninja may have finally gone too far, pushing Matt and every relationship he has to their breaking points.
Rated T+
Zdarsky is a good writer, but he continues to do things that are inexplicable. DD cuts out his eyes in front of the Stromwyns, who don't know that DD has radar sense, so why would they make a deal with a powerless blind man? DD enters the meeting declaring he's not there for revenge, but then takes (illegal) actions that show he definitely was. As far as I know, the world still believes the world more

The story itself was ok, but Zdarsky went out of it his way to insult cops and the American flag. A good writer can tell a story in such a way that even if you disagree with a particular statement, it at least gets you thinking about it or can help you see things in a different light. Here neither the comment about cops nor the comment about the American flag were inherent to the storyline nor conmore
A TURNING POINT! With Elektra at his side, Matt Murdock has launched his most ambitious campaign against injustice EVER, but as recent explosive and destructive events have unfolded, he has found himself more and more isolated - and with fewer allies than ever before?

? Zedd is more powerful than ever, while Grace's second in command keeps a past plan alive, which may provide a cutting edge in the battle with Dark Specter... or prove to be the Rangers' undoing.
? Meanwhile, Mistress Vile finds the ultimate use for the Vessel, whose identity finally comes to light!
The human/ape interactions where the apes are learning to read, fishing with the humans, etc. was interesting but otherwise this issue has the same problem as the last one, it just jumps around too much without feeling like it’s going anywhere.
THE CRIME OF TIME AND HUMANITY'S HUBRIS!
Humanity slips ever closer to the brink of extinction as the Army of Man continues to target apes in a misguided attempt to end the spread of the ALZ-113 retrovirus. With groups of apes in Europe, Africa and Asia continuing to grow in intelligence and power, the threat of simian domination of Earth becom...
Mediocre at best. We’ve seen Theta for nine issues now, she still has no personality, there is still no reason to care about her as a character, and the story is taking a long time to get where it’s going, if it’s going anywhere at all. I can almost guarantee this will be future dollar bin filler
Theta is ambushed by a Predator! But is this the Predator that she's been tracking all these years? And without her weaponry, is she prepared to take it on one-on-one?
Rated T+
I hope this picks up because the potential for a great story is there but this issue just jumped between so many different times and places without really going anywhere that this was the comic book equivalent of a wheel spinning frantically while stuck in the mud. I do hope we get to go back to the future world the original movies were set in somewhere over the course of this series.

Action but not a lot of story or character development. So far Brisson in this arc hasn’t provided anything to anyone who’s seen the Prefators movie.

This was just a retelling of Predators and, aside from the specimens being collected from different time periods, didn’t really add anything for anyone who’s seen the movie. Hopefully the series can find a voice of its own as it continues

Exciting issue with a climactic battle. For a supposed lifelong devoted Catholic Matt misunderstands fundamental tenets of Christianity when he says “no creature is born evil.” This would undermine the need for a savior which is a foundation of the entire Christian religion. However, I do appreciate that Zdarsky seems to have made a good faith effort in trying to reasonably portray someone commore

I’m baffled by the modern moral notion that insulting someone’s religion is bigoted unless the insults are directed towards Christians or Jews. I found Buccellato going out of his way to make fun of Jesus detracted from what has otherwise been a very entertaining series. Let me caveat this by saying that in no way am I implying Buccalleto is a bigot, but 1)we all have immortal souls and will smore
The Chicken Devils' war on crime continues as they try to stomp out the 'Turds...and another NEW gang with a strange name. Meanwhile on the home front, Mitchell Moss enacts a plan to help keep his family safe, despite their best efforts to undermine him.
BETRAYAL! As Daredevil, both Elektra and Matt Murdock have made a home for super villains at the new stronghold of the Fist. But not everyone they've welcomed shares their vision for how things should be done. In this issue, that's going to cost them - and put them on a collision course with the rest of the Marvel Universe!

Zdarsky seems to be stretched too thin. This issue does little more than express Zdarsky’s personal politics. The plot does not move forward in any way, and his politics are expressed in a logically inconsistent way, which is pretty annoying. IMHO - politics should be left out of ongoing series like Daredevil. Leave personal politics for indies, anthologies and limited series

The book literally tells you thats what its saying though. Matt straight up says thats what he's trying to avoid. The whole moral foundry of daredevil the line between what he does to help people and what lines he crosses to do it
With now dropping DD, I’m down to worlds finest. ONE BOOK on my pull list, the lowest it’s ever been, keep putting politics in books I’ll just drop new books altogether
I dunno. I think DD's gone over the deep end. "Everybody's looking for us" Elektra tells Matt, and the next thing he does is take his group of on the lam supervillains out in public to stop a landlord from evicting tenants? And beating up law enforcement? And then it all turns out to be unnecessary because Matt Murdock got a court order stopping the eviction anyway. (When? How? Matt hasn't been lamore

superstan52 highlights why personal politics should be left out of a title like Daredevil. Real world politics place the story in the real world and makes the suspension of disbelief difficult. I’ve loved Zdarsky’s Daredevil run up until this point. This issue was bad. I expect the next will pick up again. It’s ok that Zdarsky wrote a bad issue. They aren’t all going to be good
