still no Foggy. the storyline such as it is, is asinine with "instant priest" Matt apparently annointed to do God's dirty work on Earth, even though in the previous storyline he was completely duped by the Beast. still no hint of how he came back to Life, what parts of his memory are gone. Just a boring mess.

Wow, do I HATE this Catholic religious gobbledygook, issue after issue.
And it's Hell's Kitchen. Not that big an area. Where's Elektra? Where's FOGGY??

The main person that Matt sacrificed his soul for last run (Foggy Nelson) has yet to be mentioned. The very first issue of this run establishes Matt as Daredevil again and he gets his memories back. We’re in issue #6 and Matt hasn’t gone to see how Foggy is? It’s make zero sense for Matt as a character. On top of that, I just don’t think Kuder’s art fits DD. The thing that’s keeping me in this right now are the appearances of other big characters, that’s about it. more

I am so damn torn with this run.

On a positive note, the addition of Farad Karami’s art has really kept me interested in this run. And, I’ve enjoyed seeing past characters of Matt’s history work their way into these stories.

That being said, I tried to give it a few issues to see what would happen, but we’re in issue #5…WHERE IS FOGGY!? Matt remembers everything from his past life and not once has he thought about going to check on Foggy, his best friend who Matt sacrificed his own life for…that makes no sense whatsoever. Anyone that understands Matt Murdock as a character, knows it would’ve been one of the first things he did when he got his memories back.

Now after reading issue #5, I’ve come up with only 2 explanations:

1. Matt has been reborn in an alternate reality where Foggy doesn’t exist.

2. Foggy is also possessed by a demon and is the one behind the shady investigation into St. Nicks. This seems like the most likely now but still does not answer WHY MATT HASN’T GONE AND SEEN HIS BEST FRIEND!? more

The storyline is slowly starting to grow on me, however…there are still a lot of unanswered questions…ie. How does nobody recognize Matt Murdock, ex-Mayor, lawyer for superheroes, etc???? And if Matt has regained his memory, HOW HAS HE NOT REACHED OUT TO FOGGY YET!?!

This has been a puzzling series so far, raising interesting mysteries that are suffering from the format of monthly releases. Like Charles Soule’s run, people want answers NOW, and it can be frustrating having to wait like this. I for one am quite confused on several fronts, specifically why Ben doesn’t recognize Matt. Is it because of the demon, or funky business with Matt’s new identity?

Still, there are a lot of individual elements that I like about this run, but the pacing is starting to drag. more

"Somehow." That's the one word "explanation" on the splash page for how MM returned from the dead, and with total amnesia.
"Somehow" Matt, with no memory, no training, no ID, becomes a priest, working in a place that calls for close contact with children, no less. That's some screening process!
"Somehow" MM doesn't question who he was before six months ago, isn't plagued by his total lack of memory, isn't curious as to whether he has friends, family, et.
"Somehow" this made it through all the editors and onto the newsstands.

After Zdarsky’s run left us with us with so many questions, this new #1 unfortunately doesn’t really give us any answers. On top of feeling very rushed, some things actually didn’t make sense or connect with how Zdarsky left the character. Also the art didn’t do it for me really, that’s just IMO

Rushed first issue, the writer seems to want to get rid of Chips status quo as quickly as possible and the story suffers heavily because of it.

Kuder is a good artist but his art doesn't fit for Daredevil. After the last tremendous run this needs to be special and it simply isn't.
