I like a Superman that’s full of righteous rage.

Sticks the landing beautifully.

This was a great tie-in to One World Under Doom AND Blood Hunt! North is one of the most successful authors when it comes to seamlessly incorporating events into the storylines and themes of his individual books (but I’m sure it helps when he’s the one writing the event).

Legendary art from Mora, but with each issue I feel more and more that this book isn’t for me. It’s so chaotic, filled with so many characters, and I find it overwhelming. For many, this will be much of the appeal, and I can respect that. This chaos makes the personal and quiet moments stand out even more and makes them all the more powerful, though, such as the exchange between Batman and Martian Manhunter in this issue. Those are the moments I really enjoy, but it’s just personal taste. more

My jaw dropped

A middle of the road arc in a series that’s consistently good, more often than not great.

The first couple arcs of this series blew me away, and then it fell into a slump. It’s occasionally hooked me again, but this is the first issue in a while that’s come close to making me feel the way those initial issues did. Many of the previous issues have suffered from odd pacing and extreme decompression, relying solely on atmosphere to the book’s detriment. Everything clicked together again in this issue, and while I agree that Nic Klein’s incredible art is the best part of this book, that just hasn’t been a problem for me. PKJ’s storytelling in this issue has returned to its previously gripping form, but even when I found his writing lackluster, I was happy to see Klein’s beautifully horrific illustrations. more

Judging this issue on its own, I quite enjoyed it. Kuder’s art really works for me, and this arc has culminated in a solid climax. My problems are with how unnecessarily long it took to get to this point (I don’t know of any other Daredevil story arc that has gone on this long, and it also feels like very little has actually happened) and how this creative team seems to have ignored, forgotten, or is totally unaware of what happened in Zdarsky’s run. The whole world thinks Matt Murdock is dead, but here he is in court and no one thinks that’s weird? It’s like Matt forgetting about Fisk killing Mike but even worse. I’m okay not knowing how Matt was resurrected—in fact I think it’s better to leave that vague and up to interpretation—but I’m not okay with how much of what Zdarsky did is being illogically swept under the rug. But these are issues I have with this run as a whole. As an individual issue, this was one of the best so far. more

It's not bad. It's entertaining, but I wished we got more clarification on how Daredevil came back to life after Zdarsky's run

Zdarsky’s time on Batman had some incredible highs and painful lows. This whole arc has felt like something of an afterthought, and this issue ends Zdarsky’s run on something of a whimper. Still, I’m going to miss Zdarsky because he had some great concepts—and I’m REALLY going to miss Jimenez, who has become one of the greatest artists to ever work on this title.

Really blown away by this one.
