Daredevil #19 is going to change Matt and the reader's lives forever as his choice in this issue looms largely on what is to come. There is yet more mystery as Fisk makes an out-of-character choice with his money and sets the stage for the next arc ahead. Read Full Review

    AIPT - Christopher Franey Mar 26, 2025

The 20-part "Introductory Rites" story arc has come to an end, and what a ride it's beenfull of highs and lows, strength and weakness. On its own, the issue is a worthwhile read, but you might feel a bit lost without the full context. Viewing it as part of the entire arc is a more rewarding experience. For fans who have been waiting for the conclusion, now is the time to enjoy the payoff. It's a story that entertained, challenged, and left me eager to see what comes next. I especially appreciate that Matt didn't get an easy way out, staying true to his character and flaws. Read Full Review

Kuder delivers great art throughout the issue. I loved the story visually and there are some intense scenes that only work because of the imagery. Read Full Review

    Plot
The Demon of Wrath gives Matt an ultimatum, deciding who he'll save: Foggy or Bullseye, and then drops them both.

Daredevil hugs Foggy and throws his cane with a rope at him, but Bullseye can't catch it and is hit by the impact. The Demon of Wrath makes Matt see the consequences of his anger and doesn't take him to Hell, but makes it clear that his attitude is worthy of going there.

Daredevil reunites with Elektra, who makes it clear that she will remain Daredevil for herself and wants to be alone. She also explains that the Kingpin has disappeared (after the crisis with Matt's demon) and left a lot of money to the St. Nicholas Orphanage, where Matt was a priest.

Matt goes to say goodbye to the St. more

Why would Foggy Nelson be sad that he got to live because Bullseye died. That's like Jimmy Olsen is sad that he lived because Doomsday died while Superman was trying to save both.

Art and story were decent, and I liked the ending with the kid. But the story needed more meat, and Aaron Kuder's art isn't my cup of tea.

I liked some of the visuals. There were parts that were good. I just think it fell apart at the end. The whole fallout of the Bullseye/ Foggy choice was just stupid. The conversation with Elektra is just kind of annoying and it leaves Matt in a dumb spot leaving the kids so quickly.

I’ve gone back and forth on this UNBELIEVABLY long arc, sometimes defending it and sometimes desperate for it to end. As I’ve said since the beginning, the concept is really great, but the execution has been lacking. It really needed to stick the landing with this issue, and it did not.

Credit where it’s due: I like Kuder’s art (although I don’t think his version of Foggy is very accurate). But everything else is such a let down. The common theme with this arc is how little story is told in each issue, and that theme is continued here. Really disappointing.

The only good thing about this issue is that this endless arc is finally OVER.
Ok, the art is good too. But the whole Catholic - Matt as God's on again off again exorcist was ASININE. And the 'revelatiion' that Kingpin donated all his money to Matt's organization because the devil was cast out of his body was cringe-worthy. THAT'S NOT WHY WILSON FISK WAS EVIL.
So Matt chose to save Foggy over Bullseye? Why was this even a choice? What problem did Foggy have with it? If it was between Foggy and one of those children, ok, that's a dilemma. But Bullseye? Everything about these past 19 issues was an incoherent mess, especially the emphasis on Matt being a messenger of God - oh, wait - he wasn't - oh, he performed exorcisms so he was more
