I just can’t get behind this run. So many plot holes, nothing makes sense. Nobody remembers Matt from his past life? But Doctor strange who’s not possessed does? But not Ben Urich who is possessed? Nobody recognizes the Ex mayor of NYC/lawyer for superheroes? Took 9 issues for Foggy and Matt to see each other again? Matt thinks nobody remembers him but Foggy and Cole do? What the hell is going more

Huge DD fan here but sadly it's not doing it for me. Everything feels a bit rushed and the stakes just a bit too low. This issue's reunion was quite anti-climactic as well. Hoping for a massive plot twist soon.

The art in this run is really a come-down from the last few teams. very pedestrian. my main quibble is: Hell's Kitchen is not that big - and DD has not exactly been hidden for all these months. so how the hell did foggy not know matt was alive?

The structure needs twists and turns. The seven deadly sins attached to major superheroes (and them appearing at the end of every issue) has become quite predictable at this stage and it's not thrilling. The idea that Matt is being followed by the dark forces he thought he had left behind, but it is not connected to what's happening at St Nick's at all, and those bits with the kids feel like inser more

To start with the good, Evely's art is exquisite as ever, all elegant swirling, every panel bristling with motion.

But I've kind of reached my limit with King's Strong Female Characters, who are all the same character over and over. Helen is a vivacious, reckless, masculine young woman, a girl who is Not Like The Other Girls, who says naughty words and smokes cigarettes and defiantly d more

though I agree, I'd be inclined to say that love everlasting is a VERY strong exception to this.

Thanks for the recommendation! The premise of that one did intrigue me, I'll have to give it a shot

Didn't do it for me. But then again, I wasn't a huge fan of Slott's latest SM run anyway. Too cartoony, no real stakes, and lacks the punch.
