This is the best issue of this series to date. Kwannon is a badass (as always) and the confrontation between her and Betsy is super satisfying. Excalibur is a flawed comic. Tini Howard doesn't have the best handle on every character on her team as well as the narrative can sometimes take confusing jumps. If you're a big g deadpool reader then I'd say pick this up if not then maybe pass. This is just a bunch of short stories to celebrate deadpool turning 30. Brian Michael Bendis is of to a solid start on his first Justice League issue. A slow yet enjoyable start with humour & heart that's supported by good art. It's too short though & lacks some momentum because of it. It ends before really getting 'into things' is what I mean to say.

It's intended to pander and find some nobility in him being broke or a common person. Let me clue you on on something, there isn't any. Broke Batman isn't Batman, end of debate.

Swanktub - Apr 1, 2021

Batman's not broke in this story though. He's still a millionaire hanging out with his wealthy neighbours. And he still has cars and bikes set up around the city. He's just not a billionaire at the moment. No status quo ever lasts in comics, he'll be a billionaire again eventually if that is what bothers you. If you want to read a more classic Batman story, Garth Ennis and Liam Sharp are dropping a Batman miniseries in June called Reptilian that looks pretty damn promising.
