SAVAGE ESCAPE! - SABRETOOTH WAR - PART 7!
LAURA KINNEY must escape the clutches of the SAVAGE SABRETOOTH! Will VICTOR CREED'S WEAPON spell the end for LOGAN? A can't-miss issue!
Rated T+
With only a few issues left of the Sabretooth War, this story seems to be right at that spot where everything is about to get very intense. An angry Wolverine with a purpose can be unstoppable, and while Logan is not at his best right now, he's still the best at what he does, and Sabretooth is number one on his to do list right now. If you haven't jumped into this Wolverine run yet, it's time to add it to the list. SNIKT! Read Full Review
Wolverine #47 leans into Laura Kinney as a total badass in a table-setting sort of issue. The "Sabretooth War" story arc is gearing up for its final push towards the climax, and it continues to amaze me how it juggles so much so well. Read Full Review
I know the new X-Men status quo is on the horizon, but can't shake the feeling Marvel is trying to get in as much as it can before the big relaunch. Hence while Wolverine's ongoing "Sabretooth War" is still a lot of fun, it's become more of an Exiles book with each issue (and X-Force, since Laura is still in the fight). Read Full Review
Laura took the lead in this issue and was the strongest part of this issue. Thought bubbles do a lot to show her mindset and how she translates the information she receives from her senses.
The rest of the issue isn't as strong, despite having a fight between Sabretooth and Wolverine. The fight between the two characters falls flat with Sabretooth using others to fight his battle for him. The major change done to Graydon Creed is hard to swallow as well, him turning into a cyborg doesn't seem to fit his character well, and neither does the new name he gives himself.
Plot
Laura manages to escape from her captors and begins to eliminate all the Sabretooth heads that are stalking her, while these Camo and Savage awaken a demented version of Graydon Creed. Laura manages to call X-Force for help but apparently that's what Graydon expects.
On the other hand, the Exiles manage to rescue Logan from the mind control over Wolverine.
Exciting delivery that continues the accelerated narrative pace full of violence, but nothing new happens.
Art
It is very organic and full of textures which gives it a gloomy and very detailed tone.
Summary
Laura manages to escape and believes that this call for help is hopeful.
I feel very similarly to how I felt with the previous one. This wasn't a bad book whatsoever, but I also feel as though this could and should be stronger. I don't know. I really enjoyed the first two issues of this story, but everything else afterwards hasn't met those standards, at least in my opinion. With the arc and the run as a whole ending soon, I hope things can finish strong.
We’re deep in the heart of the Sabretooth War, & this week’s issue doesn’t slow down on the action. Laura unleashes her inner berserker to escape captivity, the remaining Exiles make a dramatic entrance to save a battered Logan, & a distraught Quentin continues to struggle under the manipulative grip of Sabretooth.
The issue shines brightest w/ Laura. We see her feral rage on full display as she claws her way through Sabreteeth. Artist Geoff Shaw doesn’t hold back on the brutality, and Laura’s escape, culminating in a showdown w/ Savage Sabretooth, is a gory highlight of the issue.
Quentin’s internal conflict is palpable as he wrestles w/ his own conscience & Sabretooth’s malicious influence. His convo w more
