The New Gods #4 does an excellent job of building tension and expanding the mythology with standout visuals and an exciting setup for future battles. The New Gods #4is the clearest and most cohesive issue in the series when Karak the Scavenger invades New Genesis. The New Gods is one of the best illustrated books being currently distributed in comics with a story worthy of the Gods that inhabit it. Evan Cagle and Ram V ramp things up as conflicts that span universes take hold.
this series is actually one of the few Ram V stories that I actually understand. But the real star is the art, I love Evan Cagle's art here
I'm starting to realize that I only like this book because of Evan Cagle. The guest artists are annoying and the story is just cosmic gibberish to me.
I really wish I could get into this series but the last two issues have not clicked for me. Love Cagle on art. His stuff is so intricate and wonderful, but I really can't get into the way this is put together story-wise. It just feels like everything is rushed and we jump from one thing to another and only get glimpses of events unfurling. Seeing as everybody seems to be heavily digging this, I guess it's just a question of taste and this title just ain't for me...
