    AIPT - David Brooke Feb 23, 2022

Amazing Spider-Man #90 has the look, feel, and story ideas that make it feel like an all-timer issue. Not only does it feature splashy superhero action with Spidey, but it has a great use of the willpower moment we've all come to expect from Spider-Man in his darkest hour. Read Full Review

An exceptionally good issue. Gleason and Bagley pluck all your heartstrings and leave you shocked and stunned. One of those rare issues that leave you speechless. Also, shut up, I'm not crying you're crying. Read Full Review

The Comicbook Dispatch - StoryBabbler Feb 24, 2022

Amazing Spider-Man #90 continues the fight between Queen Goblin and Spider-Man. While the new villainess isn't that great, she serves her purpose well for what she is. Gleason does a good job with the characterization for all of the characters, especially Peter and Ben. His writing coupled with Mark Bagley's art and the colors provided by the colorists make this comic a fun read. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez Feb 24, 2022

Just like the previous issue, Amazing Spider-Man #90 was a reminder of how much Peter Parker was missed as the series lead. Peter battle with Queen Goblin was so different from all the fights Ben got into as Spider-Man with other villains. While that is certainly a negative for Ben Reilly's character there is a lot to enjoy in Amazing Spider-Man #90 when it comes to the developments around Peter, Janine Gobde, and Maxine Danger. Its their character arc that have built a high investment level as we enter the final stage of the Beyond story. Read Full Review

The Goblin Queen may not be a villain built to last, but her unique Goblin gaze summarizes a lot of strife into a brief, but powerful sequence. It's a useful mechanic before Peter and Ben eventually face this saga's real villain: Maxine Danger. If this issue is any indicator, it'll be a killer showdown. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Collier "CJ" Jennings Feb 23, 2022

Amazing Spider-Man #90 puts Peter Parker back in the webs as he faces off against the Queen Goblin, with Patrick Gleason's script making up for scattershot art. With three issues left in the Beyond Saga, I look forward to seeing how Peter and Ben take down the Queen Goblin and which Spider-Man we'll be following in the aftermath. Read Full Review

This issue is amazing. I think Gleason nailed Peter's character here. I've got no complaints there. He really nailed threading that needle of comedy that Spider-Man has to thread. He has to make quips, they have to be pretty good, but they can't be great. And we got that in spades here. While I have some larger issues with Beyond's pacing, I will say this issue does satisfyingly start to wrap up the character arcs present in this era. I believe the front half of the run could've set things up better, but the back half is succeeding nonetheless. Oh, and Bagley's art is top tier. So many pages here I could nerd out about. It's really spectacular. I'm super interested in how this run wraps. Four more issues to go!

usually, I dont give books 10 out of 10s because its very hard for me to give books that I deemed are masterpieces. Infinity Gauntlet, 2015 Secret Wars, All Star Superman, Avengers/JLA, Batman: White Knight, Doomsday Clock, Kingdom Come, Blackest Night, Kurt Busiek's Marvels, are the few out of the top of my head that I deemed are masterpieces.

But maybe its because I'm in such a Spider-Man mood, but I really enjoyed this issue. I thought Beyond was going to be a filler, but I really enjoyed this storyline. My only complaint is Ben Really doesnt get to do a lot to shine, but other than that I think this is the best issue in the story so far.

This was some great spiderman! It's always fun seeing Peter overcome when the odds are against him. It's been done before but I do not find it stale when written right and this was great!

I'm not totally sold on the goblin queen being interesting... The goblin stare thing is kinda cool but I just don't know who this person is enough to care much. Not even hints, just some beyond experiment. I hope there's going to be more development or else goblin queen will just fall into villian obscurity like D.K. (that was the first single issue only villian to come to mind from the 90's and one of the first comics I ever bought)

Despite the somewhat encouraging ending, the air around the story is dripping with approaching trage more

"Go on...your brother needs you" absolute chills man. Bagley did such a great job on these past 2 issues, i loved what he did during Spencer's run and Sinister War but here his art blends so well with Gleason's writing. Speaking of Gleason, along with Jed Mackay he is the greatest surprise of Beyond, i knew he was an amazing artist, and he showed he was perfect for this book ever since he started in the 2099 arc, and he's amazing pencils in #50-#52 and #55 were one of the highlights of Last Remains, which i consider to be the highest point on Spencer's run, but sometimes is easy to forget that he's also a great writer even when he has amazing runs like Batman & Robin, Superman and Green Lantern Corps under his belt with Peter Tomasi. It's great.

Marvel really gonna have Brother esque relation between Ben and Peter. I thought they'll have them fight against each other instead of fighting alongside each other.
Now It would be dream come true for me if I got to read miniseries where Ben, Peter and Kaine are teaming up. Had Brother esque relation.

I'm shocked that I was this excited to see Peter back in the suit. I've thought the idea of taking him off the table for a while to do some actual character growth would be a good idea so he isn't swinging in circles. I still feel that way but Beyond has kind of burned me out on itself. I don't care at all about Beyond Corp. They are clearly having a hard time giving Ben a story that couldn't be summed up in 5 issues. Having Pete back in the driver's seat at least gives this series a lead to sail to end and his confrontation with the Goblin Queen is bombastic, tragic and BAGLEY.

Peter makes fun of Matt Murdock's blindness - Ben calls Peter "bro". Of course it's a 9,5/10!

There are some truly...amazing :P panels in this issue, and the character writing is overall top tier.

Can't give it a 10 though - there were some editing issues (looking at you Nick Lowe).

Gleason is good at this thing. Maybe he'll get a mini soon. Now Bagley is always great as expected. He had 4 or 5 inkers and 3 colorists on here and they all made his pencils shine. Some of those splash pages were a joy.

It's a fun, satisfying read. The plot continues to develop in interesting if not surprising ways. The art remains great, and the big inking crew on this issue does a pretty consistent job.

What could kick the whole thing from good to great would be stronger prose. There's no serious problems with the words and some of the quipping in the front is good, but the character beats at the back would hit a lot harder with better dialogue.
