NOW... War in Krakoa!
A hunt in the White Hot Room! And a heartwarming family reunion (by which we mean "possibly involving setting fire to someone's heart with a flamethrower"). Spinning out from RISE OF THE POWERS OF X and IMMORTAL X-MEN comes a must-read for the conclusion of the Krakoan Age!

This issue was pure, raw power, wrapped up in bright colors. Come for the action, stay for the melodrama. Read Full Review
While this was an emotional issue with plenty of action, there also was a few funny moments intertwined. The comic does a great job at blending all of these elements together in a way that doesn't feel forced, but flows nicely. The writer, Kieron Gillen, does a fantastic job at giving each mutant their own chance to shine without dulling the other's around them. Read Full Review
X-Men Forever #3 is easily the best issue of this mini-series by far. That is thanks to the way the direction Hope Summers, Destiny, Mystique, and Nightcrawler arcs are developed. These four characters carry the story in this issue to feel important to what is going on in the Fall of the House of X and Rise of the Powers of X titles. Read Full Review
I feel truly lost in this issue, but it is the problem with picking up so many tie-ins for an event. Read Full Review
X-Men: Forever #3 tries to depict an epic battle for the fate of Krakoa, but the art isn't up to the task. Read Full Review
Really interesting book, loved the Nightcrawler-Mystique-Destiny drama. A little confusing but not overly so if you're paying attention. Overall Rise/Fall hasn't been quite as good as HOX/POX but it's still been good, and this book has been one of the highlights.
This issue is weaker than the rest, mostly due to the art feeling a bit unfinished. This is essentially a wrap up on what Si Spurrier was doing with his various series. This issue in particular really feels like they had written most of FoHoX/RoPoX and then realized that there were storylines that didn't really conclude, and they needed to fix that.
This was a decent issue. All the issues so far make it feel like the X-Men are in a dire situation, it just doesn't do anything to progress the story until the end.
This is an essential reading book. I feel for the people trying to make sense of the other books without this convoluted multifaceted story. Gillen does OK and Maresca has some nice work mixed in with some unfinished stuff but it's solid. I've just almost checked out of Krakoa and I'm just waiting for the end.
Not really my favorite, unfortunately. It's a shame that a good chunk of the FoHoX comics have been a relatively weak, in my opinion, considering this whole era started so strong. Either way, for me, this is another case of a lot being crammed into one issue. I don't really have much more to say on that. I just hope the ending of all this ends up being good.
Art: 3/5
Story: 3.5/5
Total: 6.5/10
I don’t understand what is going on with the X-Men anymore. It’s all a convoluted mess.
