Jul 15, 2026The Infernal Hulk #9 is a near perfect penultimate issue and sets up the finale in a big way! This story has been wild and built up very well over these first nine issues. Now that we are entering the finale, the stage is set for something huge to happen. The one thing this issue shows us is that Johnson is willing to pull all of the stops in this series and that makes the anticipation for the final issue that much better. I for one cannot wait for the final issue of this part of the story and to see what the setup for the next arc will be. The anticipation for the last issue is going to be a tough wait after how awesome this issue was. Read Full Review

Bruce Banner and Doctor Voodoo make for an engaging pairing, while Adam Gorham continues to excel at grotesque monster designs and horror-infused action. Infernal Hulk #9. this book is back on track after a disappointing previous issue. I wish Nick was back as the artist. The book suffers without his visuals but I get hes working on bigger books to come. The art here just was so mid and I cant stand when artists don’t draw faces on big groups shots.overall still good stuff. Hulk and Dr voodoo... given the circumstances it makes sense and works. Well Done!

Plot
Bruce Banner and Doctor Voodoo enter the Soul Cage, where they find Sumanguru, who possesses gamma power in this astral realm. This comic connects to Incredible Hulk #13 from 2024. Apparently, Banner wants to obtain Sumanguru's gamma power by challenging him to a riddle competition.
Meanwhile, Infernal Hulk allows monsters to attack a town where Charlie lives, but she attacks them transformed into the half-wolf Lycana.
Iron Man has a plan to stop Infernal Hulk, so he sends Captain Marvel to a distant location in the cosmos to find a mysterious figure who can help them.
This comic connects directly to the Incredible Hulk saga by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein, so it's helpful to refresh your memory more -
