The best thing that North and Silva continue to do is not try to suddenly alter Doctor Doom to fit what a traditional Marvel protagonist needs to be. This is Doctor Doom to his core and he is using his own experience as a villain to accomplish what he has. One World Under Doom #4 has A-list writing that easily outpaces the art. North's Doom is perfect, and he plays the arrogant villain expertly off of Dormammu. North's Doom is the best Doom has been since Hickman wrote the character, and this issue shows a lot of that off. The battle at the center of the book is an exciting fight, but the art pumps the brakes on reader excitement. Silva and Curiel have been a good team throughout this book so far, but their art in this one has a million little problems that hurt the fight. Plot
DORMAMMU takes advantage of the planet Earth being unprotected from the enchantments Doctor Strange so carefully maintained. Doctor Doom has become distracted, using the title of Sorcerer Supreme to his own advantage. The first thing DORMAMMU does is send all the heroes or beings capable of standing against him to a pocket dimension.

Doctor Doom confronts him by casting several spells that complete slowly and uses the Eye of Agamotto in various, more creative ways, creating claw-like weapons and energy blasts with its light. But inadvertently, DORMAMMU acquires the Eye of Agamotto, and the fallen Doom manages to complete his spell, bringing back all the heroes from the pocket dimension to fight DORMAMMU.

This is a surprising episode where it is shown that Doctor Doom is not as infallible as he thinks he is and has neglected many aspects of the title of SORCERER SUPREME.

Art
It's highly detailed, creating a suspenseful atmosphere that blends magic with science fiction in perfect balance with all the heroic poses. The art is as epic as the event.

Maybe Ryan North can’t write literally any other character besides Doom and Dormammu..
although they kinda have the same voice.

This was a MASSIVE step-up from the previous issue. I like Ryan North's voice for Doctor Doom.

A pretty good issue, with a nice focus on Doom himself.

At the start, we learn Dormy sent all the heroes off Earth and into some other dimension.
That's a mighty big event that is just glossed over and we're forced to accept it - but so many questions remain...
Why can't the heroes just return? It's not like Thor can't travel between dimensions. Get Wanda, Lockjaw or any other dimesnion jumper working on it.
Or Reed, who in the latest FF hops between whole universes a few dozen times [also written by North].
What about the villains (who are shown not transported)? Won't they want fight Dormammu too? Asgardians looking down?
If Dormammu can do this, why didn't he just send them into the center of the sun?
I know we need to suspend belief but all this and more - and it's not even Page 2 yet.

The Snikt page - ugh. Dormammu has been shown to be a being of energy, a knife (or claw) should be meaningless (besides making the Wolvie fanboys happy). But if he is now corporal, with Vic's connection to the FF, I would have much preferred a "It's Clobbering Time" event.

Doombots are the difference to return the heroes to Earth? Really? How'd Vic even know which of the kajillion dimensions to send them to? And the return of them was so laughably perfectly timed to fit the narrative.

In the end, this issue finishes exactly where it could have begun, with the heroes fighting alongside Vic - so I'm not exactly sure that this issue was needed.

Decent art though. more
