…you would wait to grab this book. 7&8 were solid, and I only see things heating up from here.
After last issue’s disappointing conclusion to the Fries arc, Snyder comes ROARING back to full-form this issue with a truly terrifying introduction for the absolute version of Bane, which I think is far more epic and scary than his original introduction way back in 1992. Dragotta’s art showcases his best work yet, and the combination with the writing and coloring is absolute perfection! Brucemore

Great intro for Bane, and good setup and writing around that central goal. Idk why you

I haven’t read it yet, just flipped through the art for a few minutes.
The few captions I did read hit with impact, even without the context of the rest of the writing.
And, the art is fantastic. I’m giving it a 10 for the art alone.
I’ll read it tonight, but I don’t expect to lower my score.
SILVER SURFER'S FINAL VOYAGE?! The SILVER SURFER returns to defend a war-ravaged Earth, but Norrin has a galaxy-sized target on his back. A new enemy will stop at nothing to steal away everything the Surfer is or ever will be. A single human life may be all that decides the Surfer's salvation...or damnation. If the Surfer falls, who then wields the...
You can enjoy this as a standalone issue.
The writing nails the voices, and the action is very well illustrated.
• Sensing vulnerability, Dormammu has attacked Earth - and only Doom stands in his way! Dormammu has banished all other heroes to a pocket dimension, leaving Doom to stand alone against the Dark Lord of Chaos.
• But on the other hand...Doom has never needed allies in order to ensure that his will is done.

If only all guest artists were this good.
Batman is in the fight for his life against this icy new threat. But in the end, what terrifying truth will be unearthed about Ark M and…Joker?
I could not agree more. However, a lot of people aren't seeing what we are. It genuinely boggles my mind. Unfortunately, for the good of the run, perhaps more of the original artist will get folk on side. Can't believe I'm writing that. The fact this is sitting at 8.6 is testament to how ridiculous people are.
Why did this take so long?
SERIES PREMIERETHE BEST NEW (NOT QUITE A) SUPERHERO SERIES IN THE UNIVERSE! Cursed with an unquenchable thirst for violence, BATTLE BEAST searches the universe for the one warrior mightier than him-and a glorious death, his only reward. But even in a universe of mighty Viltrumites like Invincible and Omni-Man, it seems that no one may be able to s...
My favorite issue of the series. It gets better every time
I read it. I grab a copy every time I spot one under $10.
A perfect little book.
The history of Dr. Manhattan! While on Mars, contemplating the picture in his hands, Dr. Manhattan re-experiences the key moments of his life--from his earlier days helping his dad repair watches to his accidental transformation and his dark days in Vietnam.
I’m blown away by one segment every time I read it. Format elements are iconic, for crying out loud.
It is my second favorite issue in the entire series.
It’s a 10.
While Dr. Manhattan continues his seclusion on Mars, back on Earth, Dan offers Laurie a place to stay while Rorschach continues his investigation of Blake's murder. Plus, a mugger attacks Ozymandias and Moloch offers to come clean.
Read this book.
There’s alotta reprints for issues 1-6; hunt them down and enjoy a glorious first arc.
I didn’t love the 2nd arc as much, but that’s to be expected. They opted to lay groundwork, and that forethought pays off swell in the third arc.
If you don’t jump in now, then you’re bound to regret it. DWJ is so hot right now.
Autobots vs. Deceptions vs. is already devastating Seattle, but none of them are prepared for how it will end.
It’s alotta dialogue, but issue 4 balances it out with the action.
You’re gonna need issues 3 and 4 to enjoy either. They just need each other, and maybe only each other, and I like that.
After KANG descends upon the City of Tomorrow, the Illuminati must regroup! IRON MAN has a heart-to-heart with Tony Stark! DOCTOR DOOM - the anti-Maker - prepares his own plans to deal with this evil Reed Richards... and the Ultimate Universe that the Maker thought he had rebuilt frays at the edges as they prepare for cosmic war!
Rated T+
I liked how short this series was, but some won’t like that.
I for one was glad this story was 4 issues instead of 12.
It isn’t easy to make a story like this so succinct, and it doesn’t get enough credit for that.
This issue feels like the part 2 to issue 3, simple as that.
THE END...OR THE BEGINNING? War breaks out as timelines and universes collide! Iron Man must choose between the lesser of two evils - the Maker or Kang. But what secret does Iron Man know about the men behind the masks? And at the end of it all, the world outside your window will be forever changed! Don't miss this giant-sized, action-packed conclu...
Obviously as a humongous Rocket fan I was gonna get this anyway, but I wasn't expected such an issue of epic cosmic scale.
It manages to blend humor, pathos and adventure and to be incredibly engaging without even containing much of a fight scene.
It builds upon an unlikely formation of Kindred spirits.. from when Rocket and Doom switched bodies, and gained understanding of more
JMS UNITES UNLIKELY DUOS FROM ALL ACROSS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE!
J. Michael Straczynski brings his incredible character work to beloved Marvel characters great and small in a series of exciting one-shots! First up: Doctor Doom and Rocket, drawn by the inimitable Will Robson!
Doctor Doom does the one thing he never wants to do: ask for a favor!...
This was a really cool one-shot. I thought it was better than Hickman’s Doom one shot from last year. I see alotta complaining about an inconsistent tone, but this is what I hoped for from this team up. There was one sorta cringey joke, but I can overlook it for enjoying the ending.

This really shows the voice they created for the character, and it pairs well with the visuals to elevate them.
DIANA MAKES THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE! The Tetracide is "The Four Killer"...and Diana has done the unthinkable to escape its fatal grasp. The move may have saved her to fight another day, but the price Diana paid is more than she can stand to lose for the fight that's coming. Great art, and I like the setup for the finale.
AN EYE FOR AN EYE!
Time has passed since WOLVERINE'S quest for vengeance began. But as an eye for an eye escalates through the years, revenge becomes a FAMILY AFFAIR! And this is going to be one HELL of a reunion! A shocking development in Hickman and Capullo's saga of the Wolverine that must be experienced to be believed! RATED PARENTAL ...
Exactly what I wanted, because the focus on action is perfect for my taste.
If you love Brio as much as me, look for the B cover!
A daring plan has put Sam and Duncan on their back feet. Now it's all hands on deck to get their daughter back home safe, even if it means they lose everything in the process.
I definitely should’ve read something before this, but it worked well on its own. Great writing, beautifully dynamic art.
RAM V AND EVAN CAGLE RESHAPE THE MYTHOLOGY OF THE DCU! An old god has died, and the reverberations of his passing are felt across the universe, setting forth the soldiers of an intergalactic army and awakening the latent powers of a mysterious child on Earth. The art is fantastic.
The reinventing of Batman is both very compelling internally and externally. Snyder is taking HUGE swings, and they are super interesting.
NEW FRIENDS, NEW ENEMIES! Batman and Alfred have formed a tentative alliance, but the Black Mask has some new friends too...and they're coming to Gotham to wreak absolute havoc. Plus, discover the dark secret that will rock Bruce to his core and make him question everything...
We get some answers to questions, and we get some swell artwork. The artwork makes up for the focus on exposition, which is still folded in well with the action.
Sam and Duncan reflect on the first days of their adventure to save their daughter. The Cascade is getting stronger, and time is running out. Who will help them on this epic quest?
The shape of the 12-issue plan is beginning to take shape, and, to be intentionally vague…. Im very happy.
Sam and Duncan finally have the training and firepower they need to go on the assault against the Cascade. It's time to rescue their baby girl. Lock and load!
I skipped from OG Ultimates relaunch to 5 and 6, and the drama held up.
I imagine I’ll somehow enjoys this all more once I’m properly caught up.
For now, this comic has some excellent beats.
ULTIMATES ASSEMBLE TO TAKE DOWN THE HULK!
The entire roster of THE ULTIMATES unites for the first time in this high octane, climactic conclusion of the first arc! Iron Lad has a plan to defeat the Hulk, the most powerful and imposing member of the Maker's Council - but has he gotten his team in over their heads?
Rated T+
I would’ve appreciated a little more action, considering the delays.
But what is here is great.
I love how Ribic draws Hulk.
EARTH SURRENDERS?!
Overwhelmed by Xenomorphs, the survivors abandon their home planet!
But so many are dead. So many wounded. And a terrifying few CHANGED.
The Avengers must avenge.
Rated T+
Gabe Hernandez is brain dead.

WOLVERINE's quest for vengeance leads him from old friends to old enemies - with death in his hands! Jonathan Hickman and Greg Capullo take LOGAN to the brink - setting the stage for the next unbelievable chapter. Trust us - you'll never guess where this one leads.
RATED PARENTAL ADVISORY.
I wanted more action, but what IS here IS stellar.
Great start.

Great start all around, I already like the characters.
Series Premiere. Sam and Duncan LaMarr love their six-year-old daughter, Penny, more than anything in the whole world. But half a year ago, she was taken by the Cascade, an evil force they barely understand. Now, Sam and Duncan must fight side by side with the magical beings Penny cherished to try and get her back... before she's gone...
I enjoyed this a lot, I just hoped for more progress. I was hoping for a Sinister Six throw down for arc 2, but that is clearly not in the cards at this pace.
THE SHOCKING CONCLUSION OF THE ULTIMATE OPENING ARC!
Spider-Man must finally confront the head honcho himself: Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin! Kingpin, as owner and operator of the Daily Bugle, has been working with the Maker's Council to control the spread of information in their favor... Which means he's the first domino that must be toppled to end...
What’s here is great, I was just disappointed that only half of the book is the main story. $10 is a lot for this much Green Goblin art, even art as top notch as this.
GUESS WHO'S BACK?!
THE GREEN GOBLIN RETURNS in this landmark and massive issue of ASM that boasts not only a double-sized main story but some instant Spider-Man classics by legends and legends to be! Impressed by how they maintained pacing after the preceding arc finale.
The new artist is great.
