After last issue’s disappointing conclusion to the Fries arc, Snyder comes ROARING back to full-form this issue with a truly terrifying introduction for the absolute version of Bane, which I think is far more epic and scary than his original introduction way back in 1992. Dragotta’s art showcases his best work yet, and the combination with the writing and coloring is absolute perfection! Bruce is finally in over his head and it will likely be up to his friends to save him. I didn’t want this issue to end! It’s my favorite to-date! more

I haven’t read it yet, just flipped through the art for a few minutes.

The few captions I did read hit with impact, even without the context of the rest of the writing.

And, the art is fantastic. I’m giving it a 10 for the art alone.

I’ll read it tonight, but I don’t expect to lower my score.

You can enjoy this as a standalone issue.

The writing nails the voices, and the action is very well illustrated.

If only all guest artists were this good.

I read it. I grab a copy every time I spot one under $10.

A perfect little book.

I’m blown away by one segment every time I read it. Format elements are iconic, for crying out loud.

It is my second favorite issue in the entire series.

There’s alotta reprints for issues 1-6; hunt them down and enjoy a glorious first arc.

I didn’t love the 2nd arc as much, but that’s to be expected. They opted to lay groundwork, and that forethought pays off swell in the third arc.

If you don’t jump in now, then you’re bound to regret it. DWJ is so hot right now.

It’s alotta dialogue, but issue 4 balances it out with the action.

You’re gonna need issues 3 and 4 to enjoy either. They just need each other, and maybe only each other, and I like that.

I liked how short this series was, but some won’t like that.

I for one was glad this story was 4 issues instead of 12.

It isn’t easy to make a story like this so succinct, and it doesn’t get enough credit for that.

This issue feels like the part 2 to issue 3, simple as that.

Obviously as a humongous Rocket fan I was gonna get this anyway, but I wasn't expected such an issue of epic cosmic scale.

It manages to blend humor, pathos and adventure and to be incredibly engaging without even containing much of a fight scene.

It builds upon an unlikely formation of Kindred spirits.. from when Rocket and Doom switched bodies, and gained understanding of each other that may be singular. Their dynamic here is surprisingly lively and given the comic book level abstractness of their shared goal here it would be easy for this issue to narratively implode in itself. But it doesn't.

Id say the way it ends is pretty interesting, with room for some interpretations, but it speaks to why Doom is one of the very best of Marvels characters... and why Rocket is the perfect companion for this journey into his own soul. Its a little indulgent and typically praiseworthy of Doom, but I think it earns it.

JMS killed it basically. High marks.

And Will Robson had a gargantuan task with this issue and delivered too. Not everyone will appreciate his style, but I do. Hes able to capture expressive essentials and tone in ways that make the script sing.

Pick this one up. We meed more Rocket books. more

This was a really cool one-shot. I thought it was better than Hickman’s Doom one shot from last year. I see alotta complaining about an inconsistent tone, but this is what I hoped for from this team up. There was one sorta cringey joke, but I can overlook it for enjoying the ending.

This really shows the voice they created for the character, and it pairs well with the visuals to elevate them.

Great art, and I like the setup for the finale.

Exactly what I wanted, because the focus on action is perfect for my taste.

I definitely should’ve read something before this, but it worked well on its own. Great writing, beautifully dynamic art.

The art is fantastic.

The reinventing of Batman is both very compelling internally and externally. Snyder is taking HUGE swings, and they are super interesting.

We get some answers to questions, and we get some swell artwork. The artwork makes up for the focus on exposition, which is still folded in well with the action.

The shape of the 12-issue plan is beginning to take shape, and, to be intentionally vague…. Im very happy.

I skipped from OG Ultimates relaunch to 5 and 6, and the drama held up.

I imagine I’ll somehow enjoys this all more once I’m properly caught up.

For now, this comic has some excellent beats.

I would’ve appreciated a little more action, considering the delays.

But what is here is great.

I love how Ribic draws Hulk.

Gabe Hernandez is brain dead.

I wanted more action, but what IS here IS stellar.

Great start all around, I already like the characters.

I enjoyed this a lot, I just hoped for more progress. I was hoping for a Sinister Six throw down for arc 2, but that is clearly not in the cards at this pace.

What’s here is great, I was just disappointed that only half of the book is the main story. $10 is a lot for this much Green Goblin art, even art as top notch as this.

Impressed by how they maintained pacing after the preceding arc finale.
