I definitely should’ve read something before this, but it worked well on its own. Great writing, beautifully dynamic art.

The art is fantastic.

The reinventing of Batman is both very compelling internally and externally. Snyder is taking HUGE swings, and they are super interesting.

We get some answers to questions, and we get some swell artwork. The artwork makes up for the focus on exposition, which is still folded in well with the action.

The shape of the 12-issue plan is beginning to take shape, and, to be intentionally vague…. Im very happy.

I skipped from OG Ultimates relaunch to 5 and 6, and the drama held up.

I imagine I’ll somehow enjoys this all more once I’m properly caught up.

For now, this comic has some excellent beats.

I would’ve appreciated a little more action, considering the delays.

But what is here is great.

I love how Ribic draws Hulk.

Gabe Hernandez is brain dead.

I wanted more action, but what IS here IS stellar.

I enjoyed this a lot, I just hoped for more progress. I was hoping for a Sinister Six throw down for arc 2, but that is clearly not in the cards at this pace.

What’s here is great, I was just disappointed that only half of the book is the main story. $10 is a lot for this much Green Goblin art, even art as top notch as this.

Impressed by how they maintained pacing after the preceding arc finale.

The new artist is great.

I was impressed with the art, and I thought the writing was strong in the brevity department; both ideal for a story focused on monoliths like Galactus and Doom.

It wasn’t quite what I expected, but isn’t it sometimes better that way?

Ultimately, worth $7 imo, even if it doesn’t end up being a Key issue.

I’m not afraid to overhype it. It’s just a comic, but it’s a well executed comic.

Make sure these picture aren’t stuck together, and get ready for some solid sequences. The bar was set higher and higher each issue, and DWJ somehow still had more fuel to elevate with.

I even felt the cover for 7 added to my enjoyment of the ending… that’s a rare treat to help with the wait ;) more

Crazy pumped for the finale, I’m glad I waited for it to release before reading the penultimate, too. The wait would’ve been rough.

All I’ll say is that I looked up a toy on eBay afterwards before even starting 6. Look for cover B ;)

I’m impressed by the nuance injected into Transformers, for crying out load.

All I’ll say is make sure your pages aren’t stuck together for this issue.

Like any great arc, the writer surprises by somehow continuing to simply outdo themselves again and again.

Expected a slower issue after a nonstop first issue, but only got the bar raised further for the rest of the series.

This writer knows how to bring weight to a story about robot aliens that change into cars for some reason.

It’s great when a first issue can manage setup and momentous action.

Sometimes a writer/artist combo pays off beautifully, and this is a prime example.

Now *this* is what I wanted from Legion of X. With the crossover forcing him to focus (and a better collaborator in the tireless Paco Medina), Spurrier returns to the heights he reached in Way of X. The bloated cast is pared down here to just Mother Righteous (the best and most interesting new idea in LoX, and this is her best appearance yet) and Vox Ignis (an idea I was skeptical of in LoX, but who shines now that he's got a little room to do so) and it makes an immense difference.

And while the Nightcrawler chimeras are largely background characters with personalities that are by necessity pale imitations of the characters they're based on, Spurrier & Medina give them enough weight that they nevertheless feel meaningful, using them to comment on Nightcrawler himself and giving them personas that are just enough off-center from their other progenitors to make them feel distinct without being so far off that they're unrecognizable. (I can't quite imagine Peter Parker yelling "yee-haw" about swinging on a chain, but not because it's outside the scope of things the original character could in theory do.) I'm glad it's Spurrier writing the chimeras; the uncanny balance they require plays to his strengths.

Three chapters in and this crossover is coming out white hot. By default I tend to roll my eyes at Events, but even I have to admit that the post-Hickman era has been great for X-crossovers in general: Judgment Day was fantastic, and the Dark Web X-Men mini surprised me by being the best thing about its otherwise-disappointing parent crossover. This has been a great era to be an X-fan! more

These past two issues of Wolverine feel really connected to Percy's X-Force run, and I have found that enjoyable since it is moving the collective plot of both books forward. It is nice to see Domino back in action and challenging the current state of affairs with her team members, especially with Sage, who really needs some help, and Hank, who seems to have become a full-blown villian by the end of this issue. Just because X-Force shows up doesn't mean Wolverine dropped out of his own book either, and Percy does a good job of showing the tragedy of Logan being turned into a mindless weapon once again. A revenge plot is definitely on the horizon and I can't wait until Wolverine regains his senses and is able to do what he does best to Beast for his actions. more

I’m giving it a 9 just because there is no way it deserves the review bombs.

I want to catch up on Dr Stasis… can anybody recommend which issues of this series to collect just for that goal?

Great art, great pacing, impressive writing.

I can already tell that I’m gonna reread this book at least 100 times in my life.

I picked up the first for the art alone, and was surprised by the writing. The second is continuing to bring depth to the writing that I didn’t expect.

How is this not more popular?

Books like this are why I don’t settle for tpbs and omnibuses.

Buy a copy for your collection, and a copy for your bedside. You’ll never grow tired of a revisit.
