However, the central threat lacks the high-stakes tension often associated with the Dark Knight's most memorable stories. The second issue of DC's Batman: Dark Patterns continues to define the series as a grounded, detective noir draws on the Dark Knight's gothic roots. "We Are The Wounded part two leans heavily in to its antagonist's horror aesthetic whilst tasking Watter's take on an early-days Batman to rise to the challenge of solving the delicious mystery of his origin. I saw someone say Watters should pick up Batman after Chip leaves the flagship series. If the quality of these books is an indication, that could work beautifully.
