How can it be cancelled when it's a 12 issue maxiseries?
All-new team! Same old problems! After losing everything, Task Force Z has finally discovered who their real enemy is. Jason and his team are on the run, underpowered, and outgunned. But everyone knew this was really just a Suicide Squad when they signed up, right? One way or another, they are going to finish this. Only one thing stands in their way...but that one thing happens to be the Bat-Family.
Task Force Z #8 is an excellent action issue. As two different battles unfold in the same book, Rosenberg and the amazing artists provide examples of why this is one of the most exciting series around. It fuses horror, dark humor, and some genuine family drama and affection. The blend isnt seamless, but that is not the nature of the book. Nothing is tidy or gentle, its rough and violent. Task Force Z #8 was funny, heartwarming, violent, and heartbreaking. Too many adjectives for you?! Well add undead heroes and villains and you've got yourself a great story! (Full disclosure, the cover of this issue is very misleading) Read Full Review
All and all, it's a real solid issue that fires on all fronts. Read Full Review
Task Force Z continues to be a fun time, even with this issue almost becoming just another Bat book overall, but even with this small disappointment, the outcome to this issue was amazing and I can't wait to continue my adventures with Harvey Dent and Red Hood's zombies as they try to get their Lazarus Resin program back from Mr. Bloom and Geri Powers. It's a fun issue in some places, but it largely feels like a step back for the character. Read Full Review
Task Force Z has deserved strong praise since its inception, but this was a disappointment all around. Hopefully, Rosenberg can get things back on track and this isn't a bad sign of the direction to come. Read Full Review
I think this is the weakest issue so far. I just wasn't as entertained by it, and I'm not a fan of Jason's interactions with the Bat Family here because it emphasizes how Jason's been stuck in a loop for years. Batman's fight against the Task Force was fun, but it felt a bit hollow. Lastly, the fact that there are three different artists working on the same issue isn't doing the book any favors at all. This issue is a bit of a mess, honestly, and it only marginally advances the plot. If the series doesn't get back up to its usual quality with the next issue, this could be a jumping-off point. There are now multiple groups vying after their own end goals Jason with Task Force Z, Mr. Bloom, Geri Powers, and Batman and the other heroes of Gotham pursuing Jason and his team. Here's to hoping that it all leads to an epic conclusion. Read Full Review
Nice story for an elseworld, because if it were canon this would have a million mistakes
It's not the best I've read of Red Hood, however after a long time I think it does it a little justice.
Solid delivery, fun, smart, great art.
YOU ALL KNOW I WASN'T I WASN'T KILLED WITH A CROWBAR, RIGHT? IT WAS A BOMB. I DIE TRING TO SAVE SOMEONE I CARED ABOUT. I GET THAT SAYING I GOT BRAINED BY A CROWBAR MAKES IT EASY TO PITY ME, BUT IT'S A COP-OUT.
I DIE A HERO. THE CROWBAR CAN'T EXPLAIN WHY WE DONT SEE THE WORLD THE SAME WAY.
-JASON TODD-
In my opinion this was a great number, less than the previous one, the batfamily has terrible trust and communication problems, especially when it comes to jason.
Seeing Dick get his ass kicked in such a marvelous way, despite the behavior so unworthy of this supposed hero, is more than enough for me to acquire it.
Out of all BiCcomics fanfics this was pretty decent.
Matt normally doesn't understand the characters, however I like Jason's trajectory in this issue, he tricked them, which is not surprising and is something that many forget, Jason is a strategy that turned Batman's life upside down, I train with the best, with the same teachers as Bruce and more.
Jason received training from the league, out of the hands of the classist writer heaters that erase what Judd wrote or the growth that was given to him in his solo series, All-Caste was an incredible idea that unfortunately was not continued, Solitary a wasted villain, the All-Blades, the character's advancement, all of which are denied by angry fans and embittered writers. Matt is a regular writer, but it seems that he remembered Jason's growth a bit, which I don't see this unreal, both Cass and Jason are the best fighters, but Jason has greater physical strength. I would have liked a better development of that, but currently you can't ask much of DC
This reminded me of Jason being smart, tactical in a not very well retracted way but there is an acknowledgment of Jason growing up, being tough and yet not blind with rage as he saves Dick even though Nightwing betrays him in a betraying way. Jason can with each of them, he may not be the best detective but he is the best strategist and fighter without so much flip in the air.
I liked a Jason kicking butt, especially the overrated Dick, even at a disadvantage, that's the Jason or Red Hood I remember and like.
Enough solid, maybe it could have had a better plot.
For this editorial's current writing this was pretty decent. The Batclan thought they had set the trap but it turned out that they fell for it. Interesting
The best thing that came out this week from DC
I'm generous with the rating, from the previous topic Matt has decided to use the same inconsistent formula of his writing, he does not understand the characters, he is looking at what Chip wrote, who does not have great knowledge or respect for characterization either. It already makes me a little apathy to rate and review these messy fanfics, just because my punch doesn't allow me to leave something incomplete. I will finish this series, which I think is 11 or 13 issues, but after this I am very hesitant to buy anything from DC, it all depends on what gives so much freedom to the current best DC writer who is my Ram V.
Although Jason is the most complex character in the Batfamily, this coming and going between them is a bit more
When Jason humiliates the Bat Family.
I like Red Hood. Jason is an endearing character even if the authors tend to keep him in a status quo of a badass, transgressive, cunning and vicious hero (why not) but who still hasn't resolved his conflicts with his family. That he is different is a good thing, but the overkill of always confronting him with others (here to his advantage, and it's normal, it's his book), is stale.
Either they trust each other or they don't but there can be no half measures. Not anymore at this point. The rest of the story is really fun but totally takes a back seat.
I'm fine with him kicking Nightwing's ass, the opposite was true too. That he outdoes Cass, okay, she's still a big deal. But that he de more
I'm not a fan of books going out of their way to prop the lead character by making established characters around them look and act like fools, and that's exactly what we got here.
In this issue, the batfamily are all relegated to be lesser than Jason. Jason is smarter than Oracle, Batman, Nightwing, and Tim. He is also able to fight Cass, Nightwing, and Tim simultaneously and still claims he held back. He is considerably better than everyone at more or less everything, is manipulating them, outsmarting them, fighting all of them together, and unless you're a real die-hard Jason fan, it's about as believable as it sounds.
While Jason crossing paths with the batfamily could have been a great addition to this book, it was overall i more
Reads like Twitter bait, honestly. Hard to believe that this snoozefest comes from the same writer as DC vs Vampires.
I can see why this book is being canceled. Sales are pretty low, huh? There are more sock puppet accounts astroturfing this than there are people reading. You can tell how they all use the same writing style. Very similar to a certain account that got banned for perverted and unspeakable deeds. It's very worrying, I fear his mental health will not hold up. Hopefully, he's barred from touching any guns.
