I think it's more than obvious, if I had skipped reading, I would have bought it just for the art. Which I would have regretted, in exchange I am happy to buy other series and classics to complete my collection.

Guys stop getting angry, according to the forecasts soon the only thing we will have of these characters are the fanfics because DC is sinking fast, possibly closing soon, maybe in a year or two if this doesn't change soon. Which is a shame, but it is impossible to support them with the current series. DC is determined to immolate.

I suspected that this type of site was biased, it's funny I haven't seen someone who writes current reviews with more likes than you. However, you go against the trend of fashion and that itches some with their Alternate accounts.

According to what I know, people have been thrown out of here who don't mess with anyone for the simple fact of not giving the grades they want or even passing by some comics that no longer interest them. They have then left this place. Freedom of expression in your country is curious.

It is a shame that this place acts with the gag law when there is so much toxicity that I have personally complained about by sending an email and they have ignored allowing the same users to be insulted. That is hypocrisy.

I really don't qualify here anymore, if I haven't unsubscribed this is to read your reviews and decide whether or not to read the comic and after that if I buy it when it arrives in my country or not.

The reviews of the "critics" are very manipulated and many in this place encourage harassment, I have seen on twitter that someone posted regarding these people. How far has the whim of a few and the support of the administrator towards these people.

Now I explain the drop in the audience here, when before we saw reviews of 100 or 80 people, now it's only 60 or 50 if the book has readers or is supported by this place. Hey guys, first of all, thank you for your support, it means a lot to me the fact that people appreciate my honesty regarding the comics we all love. Second, let's not get this thing out of proportion. Dan contacted me because apparently some people are bothered by what I post and have bombarded him with emails, honestly, I imagine it wasn't easy for him either constantly being sent emails about my posts.

He told me some stuff that bothered him too, there were some fair points and I've explained my position too. We had a nice little chat, he also told me that he'll talk with the other guys too because he doesn't think that I'm the only one here who may have overstepped so there's that, too. He supported me saying what I believe about comics, whether they're bad or good.

I wasn't threatened of being banned or anything but I imagine the usual actors won't change their behavior (some of them have already gone back to their usual routine) and if that trend continues, I don't know what the future holds. But again, thank you for the support, it brings me joy that people appreciate free speech and I urge you to review the comics that you like or don't like, make your voices heard. Thank you!

When you think of a character like Superman whose fiction stories included fighting real enemies: Nazi Germany, imperial Axis Japan, KKK, etc., Gamorra seems absurd. But that was another age when comics writers, like Sandman Wesley Dodds co-creator, fought and died for freedom. Today, as read this, mass-murder in Chicago is routine, and children regularly sacrificed. Not one comics hero lifts a finger to encourage protecting their lives. Comics sci-fi writers simply squeeze eyes shut to reality.

Not only that, they encourage the dissolution of society's norms and institutions in the hopes that if enough people will give up on that and their freedoms, eventually their "revolution" will come to fruition.

Fabok is my favorite artist, period. I'd like to see every DC or Marvel character drawn by him, he is so, so gifted. Unfortunately, the dude is lazy af and he won't involve himself in anything other than covers.

Fabok art is amazing, I've been wanting to read read his new 52 books lately. Emperor penguin is an underrated Batman story, it's only really problem is when you try and trade read it. You literally have to buy the next vol to get the ending lol, and it's only 1 issues I'm pretty sure. But ya Fabok I think also didn't like what dc was doing it seemed, if he can't draw Batman I would absolutely love him to see him get a arc or two on Spider-Man or daredevil or spawn too.

I just read that Tec is going back to a monthly in April and Batman will take on the riddler (of course hes the main villain in the new movie). Tamaki is staying on as writer.

Riddler comes back as a “media personality.” Why do I think we are about to get some thinly veiled social commentary pointed in the same frigging direction it always is? :( April’s solicitations in general looked abysmal. Thank God I have an archive of library editions to keep me going for a long time.

Lol Yep. I have a feeling Tamaki’s Riddler is going to be like a Fox News pundit. But who knows… Maybe DC will try to keep Riddler on brand since he’s a major character in the upcoming film.

Riddler is my favorite Batman villain but it's been pretty long since I've read a good story with him as a main villain. King's War of Jokes and Riddles and Snyder's Zero Year gave him a major role but I'm not sure I liked him in either of those roles.

King made him kill a kid, which I don't know, I'm not saying that was necessarily above him but I always saw Riddler as a more fun type of villain whose main focus is to prove Batman he's smarter than him rather than just engaging in casual violence for the sake of it. He's not the Joker and in that story he was actually far worse than Joker.

I agree with you 100% that they made him even darker than Joker in that storyline. I love the Riddler, too. I always thought the casting of John Glover to voice Riddler in BTAS was so spot-on (as were nearly all the voices). Last time I thought he had a good storyline was during Dini’s run where Riddler was almost a supporting character because he was semi-reformed.

I never read that whole run, just some issues here and there, I kept postponing it and surmised that it was similar with Riddler's Reform episode from BTAS since it was also written by Dini. I might proceed to read it soon, though. Could you tell me what issues I should read from that run, regarding Riddler's "reform"?

Yeah when I saw Tamaki was staying on as writer I didnt gave great expectations for the new status quo but the fact that Batman is back in Gotham is in the right direction. But now you international Batman with Williamson-whos run I'm enjoying- and Batman back in Gotham in Tec. DC editorial ate all over the place right now.

And yeah Hydro I'm expecting media personality Riddler to be used as a caricature too. But I knew the release of the movie would pressure DC into getting Batman back in Gotham. I don't mind cinematic elements coming into the comic books of the character so long as it's not diluting the stories. For instance Emperor Penguin brought the nolan verse tumbler into the comics. And the joker was drawn to resemble gwinplaine from the man who laughs film.

As 7ve said Tamaki has yet to settle into writing Tec. Some of it is based editorial decisions so of it us Tamakis inabilty to voice the characters well and to tell a story that keeps the reader engaged. She seems to lose steam quickly.

Ok when you guys bring up the war of jokes and riddles. I gotta say the dinner scene with Bruce having the joker and the riddler over for dinner was one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read, but it was alot of fun. I did not like alot of kings run but it did have some good moments like that one to me.

I liked The War of Jokes and Riddles, I've rated it with a 9 here, though I still think it had much more potential than what King went for. I liked Janin's art, I liked what he did with Kite-Man and the way Batman acted but I wasn't a huge fan of how he wrote Riddler or Joker.

@Merlyn — Dini’s Tec run was a thing of beauty. He managed a series a great one-and-dones at a time when everything was written for the trade. Despite that, there was still a semblance of an overarching story but the key Riddler issues were #822, #828 and #837. @Ming — Hell yes, Dark Knight, Dark City was awesome. A huge influence on Morrison’s run and also Snyder’s run.

On the April solicitation, I have an unpopular opinion. I think if Miko Tamaki is going to stay Tec main writer, then leave Batman out of it. Tec was not always a Batman book, so there is precedent. She has publicly stated has she doesn't like Batman. OK, then don't write him, when he is the MAIN character. Everyone needs a job-totally respect that. Maybe write a Batgirls mini-series or something. But if Tec focuses on Batman, main writer should not publicly state they enjoy torturing him. My 2c

That's been a lot of fans grip with DC Bats...how about a writer on batman that likes the character? One can tell from Tamakis handling of the book she prefers other characters she kept Batman on the sidelines. And yeah Tec has been without Batman in the past.

The only torturing Tamaki has done is on the readers.

Shes never been able to voice Batman in a way that grabs the fans. Obviously because she dislikes the character and cant resonate with him.

Because I like Nightwing. As I read Batman through the second half of King's run or through the Tynion run, I'll read this too because the love for the character trumps the dislike for the writer. I also got through the whole Ric ordeal, so if I did that, I'll make it through Taylor's abysmal run too, I just hope it will be as short as possible. Activists like Taylor want the mush minds that love his writing to believe "the unhoused" are just poor saps crushed by the privileged and could pay rent that month. In fact most are criminals drug addicts and mentally I'll. They belong in prison or for the mentally I'll in institutions getting their meds and some dignity.

In the last 2 weeks I've had 3 incidents with Taylor's unhoused. The worst was when my neighbor called me at 10 at night terrified because an unhoused was trying her door. I managed to send him in his way. He was incoherent and clearly a mental patient.

They should be grateful that you still read it, for my part I have put it aside for purchase and now I don't even read it for free. They say that there is nothing worse than ignoring something or someone, which is worse than hate because you are still on the lookout, and take your time.

@Ming: I wouldn't be so harsh. I really don't think most of them are criminals. Some of them end up on the streets after some really tragic circumstances. For example,I used to know a university teacher who ended up on the streets. The guy wasn't a criminal by any means, it's just that some bad stuff happened to him and he lost all he had. There was another guy I knew who also was a pretty smart guy but one of his parents died in the national revolution against the communists and he also lost it

So no, I don't agree with your assertion about them. Yes, some of them are mentally ill. The fact that they live in the streets and not being taken care of is a failure on the state's part. And all over the world this is a problem that states ignore. I agree that we need to do better by them, I just hate this language control where lefties change the meaning of the words to suit their worldview.

"Unhoused" instead of "homeless" implies people should be given houses. I mean, I also think that houses should be way more affordable than they are today when it's getting harder and harder to buy a house no matter how much you work your ass, but the whole "the state should house people" while seems nice in theory, it hasn't worked so well, history has shown. So in a way I even agree with some of Taylor's points, I just don't agree with his obsession about language and the way he goes about it.

I understand what you're saying Merlyn but where I am it's getting quite serious. The mentally I'll belong in facilities that can look after them and restore their dignity. The criminals belong in prison where they cant harm others. The ones that just hit hard times and couldnt pay rent are the minority here. Some are saying it's gone beyond fixing at all.

As for the lefts penchant for euphemisms look no further than "restorative justice" or "equity". Sound lovely and totally empty of any value to anyone.

It's not that black and white regarding the mentally ill. Most of them don't need to be locked in asylums, they just need some period of hospitalization where they're given treatment and they can get put back on their feet. I have a lot of people close to me who have gone through mental trauma and most of them got better after short hospitalizations.Only the absolute worst cases, those who are endangering themselves and others or those who aren't looked up by anyone need to be permanently locked

Maybe I understood you wrong but I don't know what you really mean by "facilities". I got the impression you were talking about mental asylums and, like I said, most people don't need to go there, only the most extreme and dangerous cases. The rest of them just need some period of hospitalization. I don't know what's the situation regarding this in the USA but in Europe most people are given free treatment for a limited number of days even if they don't have insurance.

Usually it's not enough but better than nothing, I guess. As for the criminals, I agree, although putting myself in their shoes I can see why they resort to criminality. I mean, they're homeless, for some of them prison may even be an upgrade. The dangerous ones that can harm others belong in prison for sure.

Yes when I say facility I mean what's appropriate for the affliction. They deserve compassion and dignity. But letting things metastasize where conditions are now dangerous helps no one.

I have an acquaintance that has bi polar. She went off the rails. They'd put her in hospital for a days she'd get out then start again. Finally the medication started to work. Shes get herself into shape again and making some progress. However she still cant really function like she used to. Euphemisms like unhoused wont help her though.

I hope she gets better. I also have people close to me who have gotten through mental problems. If they have proper support from family and friends and they get their medication (this is very important, some of them refuse to take their medication and that's not doing them any good) they can get much better. Obviously no one is ever going to be the same after a mental trauma episode, but they can still be highly functional, they just need help at the right time, treatment and compassion.

Her problem in the past was that the medication would make her feel "normal" she'd stay out of trouble and then shed stop taking it thinking shes well enough to. Only now is she understanding that she cant stop taking it. She has adult children that have been helping her.

Yeah, that happens more often that it should, I've seen these types of situations.
