    Nerd Initiative - Matthew Roth

Aquaman #12 puts Arthur at the top as a clear frontrunner to win this tournament and delivers an air of confidence and power we haven't seen before in an Aquaman story. This fight is brutal as Rex, John, and Dave show the ferocity of the tournament, while Jeremy excellently showcases this new version of Arthur. IF this issue doesn't leave your jaw on the floor, I don't know what will. Read Full Review

This issue is jam-packed with top-notch action and visuals, as well as great narration that explores how both men see their abilities and their connections to nature, but it's probably the most straight-forward of the three matches we've seen so far. Read Full Review

Aquaman #12 pits two heroes with godlike powers against one another, but the battle is more one-sided than would be expected. This one is darker than the first round, but quite enjoyable. Have fun, comic lovers! Read Full Review

Comic Book Clique - Abel Loza

This was a fantastic issue, one that not only continues the main story of the K.O. tournament but also satisfies the craving for more, as we wait for issue #3. There are so many instances where these tie-in issues feel more like a side mission or unnecessary for the main plot, but Aquaman #12 really does feel essential reading to fully grasp what is going on with the story as a whole. That is what these tie-in issues should be, and it makes you want to pick up the others immediately to get the complete story. While a little hiccup at the beginning, that didnt take away from the overall success of the issue. This was a watershed issue for Aquaman's character. Make sure to read it. Read Full Review

I really don't think the whole DC K.O. event is all that great ... however Aquaman #12 elevates things a bit. Sharp writing by Jeramy Adams and sharper art by John Timms make this book continue to stand out from the crowd. This issue is really just one big fight between Aquaman and Hawkman and shows off how powerful Arthur has become. The story is about his escalating powers as he faces off against his old friend Carter Hall, who also gets a power boost in the middle of this issue. I don't like this whole concept of heroes fighting other heroes to the death ... but Adams does what he can with the concept to make it fit into the running Aquaman story. I feared that the superb supporting cast might be forced into the backseat with this event more
