Titans #22 delivers exactly what it needed to be in explaining the return of Deathstroke and leading the new Crime Syndicate. Bringing back Terra in the fold helps work in more Teen Titans history into the series. Everything else that is developed establishes a strong potential for the Titans vs Crime Syndicate storylife. There’s nothing wrong with revisiting “Greatest Hits” every one and a while and that’s what Terra and Deathstroke bring to this issue. That coupled with some of the interpersonal subplots make this series feel more and more like the New Teen Titans than it has in a very long time. Of course, that’s sort of the point, that’s why people like these characters together. It’s taken some growing pains but, this series seems to be on the upswing, even if the art feel more YA Graphic Novel than mainstream comic book.
