Ultimate X-Men #7 is a strong world building start to the second story arc for this series. Peach Momoko does an excellent job with how the introduction of Ultimate Mister Sinister and Psylocke are each handled. They each bring something different to the table that opens up the series to explore different avenues of the X-Men world that is being built. That along with other developments in this issue show that the momentum for Ultimate X-Men is going to continue to grow strong. Read Full Review
Ultimate X-Men #7 further develops the scope of the villains while introducing a new hero and adding more complexity to the plot overall. All told, you won't want to put this down as the world-building grabs you. Read Full Review
Ultimate X-Men #7 begins a new arc with by filling in the blanks with intriguing world-building and setting up the latest Ultimate version of a mutant to join the series. Putting it generously, Peach Momoko's pace and energy remain sedate, but the volume of intriguing developments and introductions build enough curiosity to keep going. Read Full Review
It's a frustrating read and I think in a vacuum, Ultimate X-Men would have benefitted far more with the story it is attempting to convey. Read Full Review
Loving this run, even if it's an X-Men book in name only. It goes without saying the art is beautiful but the writing is very fun as well. The book is capturing the school-age slice of life vibe well while still incorporating a hint of subtle horror and mutant related themes with the Children of the Atom cult and experimenting on mutants. Love the introduction of Kanon (Kwannon), this seem to be building toward a MUCH larger story and longer series than I was originally thinking. I hope so, because this has been a lot of fun. I hope Peach has time in her schedule to keep making this book for years to come.
This was much better than last issue. A lot of new story developments and the introduction of interesting characters and a new villain organization. This gives our heroes an obstacle to overcome but first they'll have to discover the true nature of it.
Art is as always fantastic and the character interactions are highly enjoyable
I honestly like this series to be the second best after Ultimate Spider-Man. It's nice we finally get nods to The Maker and the larger new Ultimate Universe
- Issue after issue, this is one of the best looking books on the market. It is SO unique & immediately puts a smile on my face. Peach Momoko is one of the rare artists who doesn’t need to toss in major splash pages to make you stop to appreciate her work. It’s evident in every line on every page. Beautiful.
- We FINALLY got a nod to the larger Ultimate Universe w/ a reference to Emperor Sunfire. This title has definitely felt the most removed from the other series, in both tone & story, so this felt like some dots were staring to be connected. I hope it continues because while I love this series on its own, its pacing & structure so far has made it feel like it’d best be read as a standalone story.
