There’s a great sense of tightening the screws through this issue as Ivy and Savage prepare their next big move, but it’s also got enough time for some really fun moments throughout. The big cliffhanger was already spoiled by DC in advance, but there are some fun surprises thrown in there in the cliffhanger that make me pretty excited to see where this story goes. Another round with the Ōjō leads to a spectacular fight in the streets of Gotham. Fraction lets the action steer the ship for this latest round. Jiménez and Morey unload on the frantic conflict with stunning art. A different look for this series which just doesn’t miss. Read Full Review

Batman #11 handles the impending arrival crossover event in the best way possible… by ignoring it and continuing to run each of it’s already rich plot lines at full speed in a head-on collision with what is to come. It’s cliffhanger twist proving to be yet another brilliant piece of writing from Matt Fraction. Read Full Review

Dark Knight News - Max Byrne

    Jul 01, 2026

Batman #11 is high quality stuff. With a brand new addition to the Wayne inner circle that may or may not be aware of Bruce’s true calling, the table is set for a new status quo at Chez Wayne. Fraction is certainly starting to adopt a kitchen sink mentality to his storytelling, which I tend to favour over sparse narratives. Issue #12 has become an even more essential purchase now. This is a weird issue in that it is all setup. But Fraction’s run has been all setup. I am still waiting for some payoff. The issue references a cop being killed nine issues ago for not killing Batman. Nothing comes from the reference other than to remind you that it happened.

The Wayne board of directors have put an open contract on Bruce, but the Japanese shinigami straight out teenage mutant turtles kills a middle man for trying to fire her. How does that works? Does she expect to get paid after killing her employer? (I know he is just a flunky, but he represents the employer). Bruce’s board hires someone to kill Bruce because he won’t let Wayne Enterprises build weapons. They’re evil because they are capitalists. Well here’s ne more
