This Fantastic Four run is doing a great job highlighting each character while also delivering compelling and original team stories. Its a very effective balance that the entire creative team is able to support from Norths writing to the art teams ability to go for big and wild or small and expressive. Fantastic Four #11 keeps that trend going with another strong Ben issue. Read Full Review
Fantastic Four #11 is another good chapter this time focusing on Thing. He gets to save the day and even use his noggin in another adventure that requires a bit of real science tethered to superhero hijinks. Read Full Review
This issue is a heartwarming affair in the best sort of way, opting to succeed on reader's expectations rather than defy. I, for one, am very excited to see more of The Thing and his new best friend. Read Full Review
Fantastic Four #11 provides another nice misadventure this time starring Ben Grimm, aka The Thing and little dog as his companion for the ride. The writing is good as the comic provides a fun little wholesome story for The Thing where he has to rely on his wits and his strengths to solve the mystery. The art from Iban Coello also helps sell the illusion and the apparent danger that The Thing finds himself in. Overall, it's a nice fun story for fans of The Thing to enjoy. Read Full Review
Fantastic Four #11 is the first issue in Ryan North's run where he successfully delivers a science experiment object lesson wrapped in an FF adventure. The experiment makes sense for Ben's predicament and shows that North can communicate scientific concepts as long as he doesn't get too complicated. Read Full Review
I really enjoy this series limiting its stories to a single issue, or two at most. This issue continues the formula North has established, focusing on a single member of the team in a Twilight Zone / Doctor Who inspired sci-fi story. This issue is clever, funny, and heartfelt. Coello’s art has been consistently great, as well. I wonder how long this run will maintain this format? I’d be happy if it stays this way, but I’m sure an overarching narrative is in the works, probably explaining why so much has been happening at the farmhouse.
Continues to be best book Marvel's putting out. Writing, art, and colors are all amazing and this series is something special I hope gets a long run.
This is just a goofy issue.
Positives: Ben gets the spotlight to show off the fact that he is smarter than your average person and gets to use some of his historical knowledge to work (without Reed just being the go-to brains). Fun read. Like if you turn off your brain there is a lot to like about this issue.
Cons: Plot kind of doesnt make sense that only Ben was able to get out. Like I get why it had to be that way but I was surprised at least Reed didn't get out (it at least sounded like Susan was super close though, so maybe half pass?). Also all these one-offs, while great, start to feel a bit weird, like how is this all happening and being wrapped up so well in their little house cabin? Maybe a over arching plot more
Miracle Man isn't my favorite villain (or anyone else's), but it was really nice to see Ben using his brains. Great art from Coello once again.
Enjoyable and fun. One off stories are great but I'm starting to look forward to a connection towards a greater plot point to make these side quests more meaningful. Hard to do but I hope North can pull it off. Coello back on and it fits well.
this was a pretty cute and hilarious side-adventure. I liked it.
