You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff Jul 22, 2023

There's still time for the series to live up to the potential of the themes being explored. The writing team is certainly circling around at the deeper end of the premise. They just haven't zeroed in on it yet. And that's a little frustrating. Three issues in, and they were still playing around on the surface-level silliness of the premise. There is so much more that could be explored about a pair of kids dealing with the legacy that they were now forced to be a part of. There's a legacy of madness there, and they really could be doing more to integrate and interface with the legend of one of the more popular villains in the history of comic books. Read Full Review

Why is this a mature 17+ story??? That actually boggles my mind because any self respecting comic fan who's old enough to read and understand complex stories is going to be thoroughly disappointed by how boring and tame this is. Pick up anything by Le Marquis de Sade if you want mature works. Pick this up if you're a cool adult who needs to find a gift for your teenage niece/nephew/nibling. Cause while I'm losing interest right now I could still see a younger me really liking the story for how it talks to the many insecurities and need for rebellion we feel at that age.Score: 4.5/10 Read Full Review
