"I have plotted the way forward for this species. For this world. For all of us. I do not do this out of anger, but of love. I do not do this for love of power, but hatred of it. I was charged with ensuring the survival of the fittest. I am ensuring the survival of everyone." - Revelation

Fanlight Zone - Richard Coryell Dec 31, 2025

X-Men: Age of Revelation Finale #1 does an impeccable job of starting the end of this monster event. The story draws you in, all while setting up where we will be going. The art helps drive the point home, as it shows the reader exactly what is happening. To put the cherry on top, the final twist will hook you in for this final ride. This book is my Pick of the Week and should be a must grab when you hit the LCS this week. Read Full Review

Nerd Initiative - Janelle Holland Dec 31, 2025

This was a solid last issue for the X-Men. I'm hoping that I will see a spin-off series of the X-Men Age of Revolution, to see where the characters are. It does jump further into the future, so I'm hoping that I will see a lot when it comes to either re-introducing comic readers to the X-Men, or introducing a whole new group. Read Full Review

Comic Watch - Jamison Nilsson Dec 31, 2025

All of the above being said, X-Men: Age of Revelation Finale #1 does set up some loose but interesting plot threads for the future of X-Men. These are mostly Chekhovs Gun-style seeds that many fans focused on just one or two titles may forget about entirely, which is why this review did not warrant a higher score than it got. My recommendation: X-Men: Age of Revelation Finale #1 has some value to event and crossover collectors and for fans of Doug Ramsey, but as a whole is more of a bridge between past and future. AIPT - David Brooke Dec 31, 2025

X-Men: Age of Revelation Finale #1 is a visually explosive capstone that delivers shock moments and meaningful setup, but it stops short of being the definitive conclusion the event needed. As a springboard into MacKay's future X-Men plans, it succeeds; as a standalone event finale, it feels stretched thin. Worth reading, especially for the art, but best appreciated as the end of a chapter, not the end of the story. Read Full Review

    Graphic Policy - Brett Dec 31, 2025

Overall X-Men: Age of Revelation Finale isn't really interesting for the action or art, it's how this event was structured. It felt like there was no main series to follow and in the end, it doesn't wrap up with a resolution to the problem, but instead kicks off the next chapter of the story where more challenges are presented. While itself had me down on the X line, what comes next shows potential. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez Dec 31, 2025

X-Men: Age of Revelation Finale #1 is a comic that respects intelligence over comfort but trips over confusion. It won't scratch the itch for heroic triumph, and it shouldn't; it's explicitly about the moment when heroic effort proves insufficient. Stegman's art keeps up with Mackay's ambition, and Menyz's color work deserves recognition for making abstract psychic concepts visually coherent. The real question isn't whether this comic is good, it's whether you're looking for a tale where the team learns something by surviving intact or one where survival costs everything. KPB Comics - A.S Tiger Dec 31, 2025

Age of Revelation Finale #1 encapsulates many of the triumphs and flaws of this event. MacKay skillfully sets up the future with a genuinely exciting, thrilling twist and builds a strong foundation for new stories. However, in the Revelation future, with the actual story told, he falls short, failing to write a compelling villain and to provide the necessary scale and dramatic tension to pull off the kind of conclusion he was reaching for.
