May 06, 2026Phillips and company deliver a sourly entraining second issue in what is shaping-up to be a very promising run for the blind lawyer from Hell’s Kitchen. It’s sharp work that feels like it’s adding to the legend of Daredevil without alienating tgise many places his been before over the course of his six decades in the comics. Read Full Review

May 06, 2026Daredevil #2 delivers a surprisingly solid sophomore issue, as it further expands the web of mystery and menace surrounding Matt Murdock. We might be two issues in, but this creative team is clearly working hard to give fans a Daredevil story that actually feels fresh. Read Full Review

Comic Book Clique - Frank Jarome
May 06, 2026Daredevil #2 tells a compelling story where some of Matt Murdock's worst tendencies get the better of him, while Detective Forte's investigation promises to collide with the hunt for DD's mystery assailant in the worst possible way, at the worst possible time. I wish a little more time had been spent showing us Matt's new life before he started blowing it up like only he can do, but it wouldn't be a Daredevil story if we didn't want to smack him in the head as much as cheer for him. I'm looking forward to seeing just how deeply the detective's investigation ties in with DD's own, and just how much worse things can get for ol' Hornhead. Based on past experience, my guess is "a lot more." Read Full Review

Plot
Matt Murdock searches the streets for information about the mysterious Omen, but no one knows him; only Owl gave him a small clue.
Meanwhile, Detective Forte continues investigating the eyeless body found in the subway and links it to other similar crimes that no one ever suspected could be the work of a serial killer. The clues lead him to a ship where several bodies with the same characteristics have been found, and he discovers many photos of Matt Murdock that implicate him in the murders.
Daredevil's senses are impaired; the prophecy about his death has him confused, and in his distraction, he is saved by... Spider-Man.
An excellent story arc full of mystery and suspense.

Excellent art, decent story, good to see Foggy make a cameo appearance. Matt sure isn't acting like the Man Without Fear thougn, being totally freaked out about a non-specific prophecy about his death. Surely he's been there before. But great to see the book back in the "real" world after the last sorry run.

Still pretty interested in this. Phillips continues to display a fairly good grasp on Matt/Daredevil here, in my opinion, and I liked the way this played out. It's far from being revolutionary, but it's still a pretty enjoyable read. Garbett is doing some really nice work, as well. Yeah, the cover's awesome, but the interiors are strong, as well. Martin's colors, especially, are great here.

I would call this "perfectly fine". Nothing revolutionary still, but enjoyable enough.

Mystery and patience is something i would associate this issue with. The issue soak itself in the mystery of the last issue, so much so that it may seem filler-like. I would not say that it is filler, its just very calm and not intese experience and i appreciate this.
The narative continues to be pretty linear, which again, its nice. Its does not get my brain moving, which honestly is relaxing. This probably sounds too subjective, but i think its just the way matt's state of mind moves and is described. Albeit there is a moment that jump from one place to another in a too conveniant way, but it did nto bother me too much.Philips is just very clear with her words, the order and flow of his thoughts. And you know there is not much b more -

Everyhting just lacks in this issue, which is truly a bummer as a Daredevil fan.
I guess we'll have to hope for the better in the next issue. -

Phillips’s story is readable, but just not that exciting. The art is a mixed bag as well - mostly solid, but very sketchy and not something you really want to look at.
