The story, to be honest I wasn't ready to go into all the details. the first issue is from 5-6 months ago and I didn't re-read them. So looking back, this will be a great TPB. It will really shine bright in the absolute universe.

What a complete turn around this issue brings. I wasn't a fan of the first issue as it didn't contain a lot of story. The art is undoubtely amazing and facinating at the same time and continues to do so in issue #2.
The great turn around is the story, yes. This issue delivers a good story, something to really build on. Lets find out if they can make it even better.

It's weird, I love it and hate it while reading it
The story is solid, not an unfamiliar topic. Moms love is the strongest and 100% in favor of doing whatever deal to make sure she can protect her own. So nothing new here. Art wise it's well displayed but It's all to blanc for me... maybe I excpected more as I've read the work of Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen.

This is exactly what I was expecting. Just something new, a spider-man story that feels new, that looks new, that is now classified as horror,... So really glad this is not a flop.
To answer the question everyone has: No it's not as good as Absolute Batman.
But it is def really good.

This issue won't get you any further. It feels like a filler, ok the town is crazy and something is off. But we're not here for that... are we? Where's the freaking Hammerfist?
Personally I didn't like the build up. Next issue needs to do better.
