Years after Peter Pan’s adventures with Wendy Darling, the boy who wouldn't grow up is now the last one in Neverland still clinging to his adventurous youth. Meanwhile in London, Wendy also yearns for childhood and its freedom from responsibility as she rails against the transition to adulthood and her family’s expectations. As their desires create a mirror of fantasy and reality, a disastrous encounter with the aging Captain Hook becomes the catalyst for Peter’s realization that Neverland is growing up without him. But will the two of them find each other once again to carry on their age-old adventures… or is this truly the final more

Avallone delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. I really enjoyed the visual style of the story and the character designs. Read Full Review

The Last Boy #1 is a fascinating first look in to the world of Peter and Wendy through a modern lens. It offers up the chance to see two literary icons at a point of seismic change in their world view. Dan Panosian's perfectly pitched story has the chance to tell a thought provoking and moving story. The Last Boy #1 gives readers a unique take on an old story, that feels very adult, while never diving deep into gore or grittiness. This issue has a lot of promise for what may come next. Read Full Review
In a day and age where most creators can only think about stuffing in as much horror and gore as they can to deliver a "different" take on beloved public domain characters, The Last Boy #1 is a much needed breath of fresh air. Read Full Review
Its difficult to know where The Last Boy is going from this first issue. Wendys real world story is on a collision course with Peters story in Neverland. Its very unclear how the different tones of angst surrounding Wesley, and humor and sad tragedy surrounding Peter will blend together. For now, The Last Boy #1 rests on an interesting premise, both amusing and full of potential even if its not a must buy. Read Full Review
As with Dan Panosian's previous work with his own take on Alice In Wonderland, The Last Boy's approach to Peter Pan will take time to see if this will be a home run. This first issue is a lot of set-up does get across the expectation that the story will give a new take on the Peter Pan tale. Read Full Review
I am a huge Peter Pan fan. I'm even writing my new novel with an inclusion of the character. However, this does not feel like Peter in the least. The only character that feels like cannon is Wendy. I was under the impression that people inhabiting Neverland did not age and yet Captain Hook and the pirates are geriatric. I felt badly for Hook as Peter continued to bully him, though he had done nothing wrong. The designs are not very good and the art is mediocre at best. This was very disappointing. I'm going to get the next issue to see if he can swing this around.
