Predator vs. Spider-Man #1 is a blood-drenched mystery with teeth, setting the stage for an unforgettable showdown. A dream crossover that lives up to the nightmare, Percy and Ferreira deliver a suspenseful, slow-burn opener that respects both franchises while raising the stakes with gruesome flair. If this issue is any indication, the eventual clash will be nothing short of epic. Read Full Review
Predator VS Spider-Man Issue 1 brings the wallcrawler down to the monster's level. Its an incredibly gritty, disturbing and blood-soaked comic, making every page a varying level of discomfort and fear. Read Full Review
A crossover that is way more fun than expected, with unique takes on both Spidey and the Predator in these pages. Read Full Review
While the first issue of Predator vs. Spider-Man #1 gets bogged down in setup, leading to uneven pacing and questionable character choices, it successfully establishes a dark, gritty tone that blends the two franchises and promises a worthwhile payoff once the complete story unfolds. Spider-Man vs. Predator #1 is like getting a really well-made fast food burger. It's exactly what you ordered and comes with exactly with what you would expect, but something about it just hits. Percy and Ferreira may distill everything readers know from the title properties to a cartoonish degree, but its in that timeless representation the joy of such a crossover can be found. MarvelMarvelThe violence in Predator vs. Spider-Man may go overboard for some people, with several readers potentially finding it too edgy or try-hard. Nevertheless, the excessive violence gives these Predator vs. miniseries its identity. Readers should know what they're getting into by the time of the third miniseries. There's a particular standout moment where Skinner rips off the skin of a man's face with his bare hands. If that seems too much, it's probably best to skip this mini. Yet this may be the perfect mini, if that is more up your style. Read Full Review
Predator vs. Spider-Man #1 ain't here to give you instant gratification. It's the first shot of tequila before the night turns into a movie you barely remember. It's laying down bricks for something that's about to get loud, bloody, and wild. When this thing finally pops off? Man, ain't nobody gonna be ready. This crossover is about to slap harder than Aunt May's wooden spoon. Yeah, it's a slow roll, yeah, Pete's making some weird moves, but once that Predator starts stacking bodies in Queens? It's gonna be GAME ON, BABY. Read Full Review
I suspect that Predator vs. Spider-Man will read better in a collected volume rather than month to month. The pacing of this first chapter is a bit off, as are some of the character and story choices. However, it is still a solid start to a story that promises to capture the essence of both franchises. Predator Versus Spider-Man #1 has some fun moments sprinkled throughout, but they don't come together in any sort of decent way, and this leaves the issue feeling purposeless and a bit on the boring side. Read Full Review
“What was it you were saying… about this… predator?”
I love to be surprised at NCBD and this one got me!
There has been a lot of predator mini series lately but none of them felt like the real deal. This one does and I'm predicting this one is here to stay. In 10 years from now, new predators comic fans will find their way to this predator series and love it as we do.
Plot
The comic begins during an extremely hot summer in New York City, where NYPD Detective Lapearl comes across the skinless corpses of several homeless people, all missing a body part as a sort of trophy. Peter Parker, disguised as a coroner, takes photos of the corpses to sell to JJ Jameson. In this version, Peter Parker is desperate for money and has weak morals.
Before taking the photos to Jameson, Peter chases bank robbers, but has to stop to save a group of people. The robbers hide in a warehouse, where a Predator kills them and removes the skin from one of their faces for use. This is why this Predator is nicknamed SKINNER. Spider-Man arrives on the scene. Peter warns Jameson that they must reveal that there is a ser more
A great start to the series with a surprising cliffhanger.Highly recommend this one.
Good fun!
this was surprisingly a good issue that got my attention. The art here was really god, and I am very excited to see how the punisher will face against Spider-Man.
This is a decent start to the series, however, it is overpriced like most Marvel books. I'm glad they didn't miss the opportunity to put Kraven in the story. I like that Jonah is back to his old self and we get to see MJ as well. I hope they drop the price for the next issue.
