Rated T+
When all is said and done, Black Widow #10 brings a satisfying end to the book's current storyline. Where the book will go from here, only time will tell. But I, for one, cannot wait to take that ride. Read Full Review
Kelly Thompson, Elena Casagrande, and company are truly perfect together, and the work they're doing on Black Widow and the other female heroes in her orbit is venturing close to being absolutely iconic. Read Full Review
Kellys second arc finishes up with this issue, and shes added more people to Natashas supporting cast, and theyre looking to add some interesting layers for the titular heroine. Thompson has made Yelena an integral part of this book, and it feels so much better with her. The friendship feels natural, and Yelena evokes a different side of Natasha than their American allies, which opens up new paths to explore. Read Full Review
Casagrande and De Latorre blew me away with the visuals in this issue. Not only are the characters beautifully rendered, but the action and adventure jump off the page and connect with the reader. Read Full Review
Kelly Thompson, Elena Casagrande, and Rafael De LaTorre knock it out of the park with the conclusion of the "I Am The Black Widow" arc in Black Widow #10. This issue wonderfully wraps up the story with Apogee in strong fashion while creating even greater excitement for the future of all the characters in this series. It all goes to prove why Black Widow is easily one of the best comic books on the market right now. Read Full Review
With the first big adventure in San Francisco well and fully worked-out, Thompson and company can spend a little more time establishing Natashas world. Throwing action at her right away IS a good choice. Still, its challenging to get a solid focus on the conflict without having the extended ensemble of friends and associates established just a little bit more prior to the conclusion of the four-part story that ends in Black Widow #10. Although the trouble has passed, things are far from settled with Lucy's powers locked in (rather than cured) likely cementing her role at Natasha's side for the near future. As for the others, Yelena is sticking around but it's a bit unclear what is going to happen with the others. Are Kate and Anya in a hurry to leave? Or might we see the beginnings of a new team? Natasha defeats Apogee and de-powers his followers with the help of her full supporting cast + a special guest star. It's an eminently satisfying resolution and the visuals are back up to their GOAT best. This was a solid arc, although I was never too impressed with Apogee as the main antagonist. I'm not eager for him to come back anytime soon -- in fact I'm a tiny bit disappointed that this issue just had to foreshadow his return.
This book just continues to be fantastic. Kelly Thompson's witty dialogue with the amazing art style of this book finds a great blend maintaining the espionage style a Black Widow story should have with laughs and charming characters making each read a joy.
This is the type of creative team that puts together defining character runs, and they seem dead set on doing that for the Widow.
Incredible art(theres a double page that is not to be missed here), a clear voice for the characters, strong team building and potential new heroes makes this an easy mist recommend. And get the entire rest of this series while you're at it.
Beautiful art as always. Any comic written by Kelly Thompson that has Kate Bishop appear in it is a must read for me
I've enjoyed this series from the start and have found Thompson's narrative to be particularly engaging. I'm also partial to Anya Corazon and have been so happy to see her in this run. However, my favorite component of this series, and this issue in particular has been the artwork. Casagrande, de Latorre, Bellaire, and Petit truly bring some captivating panels to this issue. Of course, Hughes delivers yet another brilliant cover. Overall, this series is awesome to say the least and should definitely be on your pull list.
This was a good ending to the arc, but this isn't on the level of that first arc.
