Blade #8 finds the titular Daywalker stumbling upon another potential aid to defeating the Adana. Casagrande's art depicting Hell is imaginative, and the new addition to the team is a surprising twist, but Hill's path to defeating Adana feels like Blade is stumbling around in the dark. I give this an 8 mostly because it actually moves the plot forward (towards the end of this short series which appears to be issue 10), and the art feels a touch better.

Also I can't help but laugh hard at the conversation between Draven (the guy he killed by mistake in the first issue) and Blade. The "Rumored to be made for Lucifer himself-' 'Been there, the Adana has that.' 'You are filled with disappointments.' Like Draven must be so ticked that the dude who killed him just keeps messing up and making Adana more powerful. He is surrounded by clowns (or in this case dammed souls).

I will echo other comments point that Blade going to hell is a bit weird and not really his wheelhouse. Maybe it is suppose to show how d more

A definite improvement; things are picking up a bit. I think I figured out why this book has been so underwhelming: this particular Blade is such a loser. He's spent the whole run falling for things, messing up, getting his ass kicked, and having boring expository dialogue asking people for help. He just sucks. And while you can't have your protagonist be godlike all the time, this level of bumbling ineptitude combined with a bland plot is at odds with what many Blade fans probably want from the character, which would be something closer to at least a Wesley Snipes level of being a badass. In any case, I'm glad that it seems to be getting better.

What is the obsession with writers wanting to send their characters to Hell? Chip sent Daredevil to Hell to rescue his friends and now Blade is going there to find out information on the Adana. That's not Blade's thing. If anything, he should have teamed up with Ghost Rider. That would have made more sense. It's not like they don't know each other. Once there, of course, he just happens to run into Rotha's father. What a coincidence. I'm really over this story at this point. It feels like it's going nowhere. Let's hope it ends in a couple of issues.
